Work Hours/Shift:

Per Diem / PRN

You Will Be Responsible For:

•         Monitor the Health Wellness Center for safety, proper equipment usage and handling, cleanliness, and educates members in proper exercise technique as well as offering suggestions for improving the exercise experience.

•         Enforces Center policy and procedures.

•         Responsible for opening and/or closing the fitness center, front desk procedures and communicating about membership enrollment, services, and programs provided in the Health and Wellness Center.

•         Promotes and conducts membership enrollment and retail sales transactions of services and products offered in the Center, including: tours, distributing new member handouts, orientation to equipment, and equipment workshops.

•         Assist in all operations and maintenance functions of the Center, to include: cleanliness of surfaces and equipment, reporting and signage on faulty equipment, and other requested functions that support a clean and safe facility.

•         Promotes Health and Wellness Center internally and externally.

•         Remains current in industry standards.

•         Must be flexible to meet priorities and handle multiple tasks. 

•         Must display an attitude of enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment to a healthy lifestyle in all interactions. 

•         Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with members, patients, physicians, hospital staff, and the community.

•         Demonstrate excellent customer service and the ability to work well under stress.   Skill in handling telephone calls.  Exhibit respectful demeanor and tact at all times particularly when confronted with challenging situations or clients.

•         Must have professional discretion and confidentiality with information, excellent communication skills, ability to work with minimum supervision.

•         Flexibility regarding work schedule which will include day, evening, and possible weekend rotations as needed.

•         Attend all required safety and education programs and adheres to safety, infection control, and employee health policies and procedures; and appropriately and consistently uses PPE as required.


Qualifications
What will you need?
  • High language skills, intermediate math skills, high reasoning ability. Personal computer, word processing.  Ability to convey a positive image and build a positive relationship with others. Ability to work with a large degree of independence. Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
  • High School Diploma required
  • 1-2 years of experience in weight lifting and cardiovascular training of clients required
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification required

Job Summary:

Provides Health and Wellness Center support through monitoring of the Center weight room and cardiovascular area, new member enrollment and orientation, instructing workshops and classes, and front desk duties as required.  Exhibits excellent customer service and communication via phone, personal, and written interactions with members and staff.  Adheres to all Florida Hospital’s performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center.
