You will be responsible for:
  • Patient First Service Management Standards of Excellence.
  • Meet call standards.
  • Uses the Public Address System according to hospital procedures.
  • Answers incoming calls and transfers as needed following switchboard call processing procedures.
  • Attend all scheduled staff meetings.
  • Adheres to hospital's IPP on clocking in and clocking out according to hospital standards.
  • Responds quickly and accurately to all Codes following proper procedures.

  • Knowledge of switchboard operations.
  • Ability and willingness to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to work and respond to a stressful environment.
  • Ability and willingness to adapt to change.
  • Ability to work a flexible work shift to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Basic computer knowledge/awareness.
  • Complies with the Employee Code of Conduct.
  • Demonstrates compliance with all federal, state and local laws; rules and government.
  • Verbalizes understanding of reporting process of any actual or perceived violation.
  • Recognizes incidents as defined and described in the Hospital’s Institutional Policies and Procedures.
  • Understands the method and reasoning for reporting incidents.
  • Demonstrates ability to complete the Hospital’s Incident Report Form.
  • Assists others in recognizing and reducing risk within the department or other areas of the Hospital.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills with all team members, patients and families.
  • Maintains satisfactory participation and attendance at required and non-required meetings and staff development programs.
  • Promotes evidence of adherence to the hospital confidentiality policy.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in operation of a PBX console or high phone volume capacity.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in a hospital setting. (Preferred)
