Work Hours/Shift:
Full Time, Day
 
You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Audits 100% of Cath lab procedural patient records for appropriate charges and clinical documentation. May assist CVOR auditor.
  • Audits patient’s charts that have been scheduled for anesthesia services outside of Surginet for appropriate anesthesia charges.
  • Audits Cerner account total compared to CPA account total to ensure accurate interface of charges.
  • Supplies monthly reports regarding charge problems to department director.
  • Evaluates charge entry for Cardiac Cath, and provides back-up to staff
  • Updates CDM charges as directed through corporate, educating staff and updating charge forms.
  • Processes all PO’s for implants, batch charges all devices, prices and releases manual charges.
  • Assist as needed with submitting Cath Lab data for registry.
  • Compiles quarterly reports as needed and assist with analysis in collaboration with CV Director.
  • Assists as needed in preparation of data presentation for Cardiology sub-committee meetings.
  • Identifies potential resolutions to problems identified in data collection.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Knowledge of Cerner, Lumedx, Merge, ACC/NCDR, PACS and Heartlab Software preferred.
  • Computer proficiency including Excel and Word required.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Surgical/CathLab supplies and products required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Two year degree required.
  • Three (3) years’ experience with inventory and supply purchase required.
  • Charge capture experience preferred. 
Job Summary:

The Surgical Charge Auditor is a resource and facilitates the following processes in the Cardiovascular Department: Cath Lab charging documentation and auditing and statistical reporting for Cath Lab. This position also audits procedural charges, and educates Cath Lab staff on issues related to charging and documentation. Communicates with department management, staff and others regarding any charge and documentation issues.
