Staff Psychotherapist – Creation Health Research – Orlando

AdventHealth Orlando seeks to hire Staff Psychotherapist who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Department Profile:

The Creation Health Research is the product of an innovative affiliation between AdventHealth and Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute that bridges the gap between discovery research and clinical care. The TRI brings together the complementary strengths of Sanford-Burnham’s basic science prowess and advanced research technologies AdventHealth’s compassionate, comprehensive clinical care and clinical/translational research expertise to accelerate the discovery and development of new approaches to diagnose, treat, and prevent obesity, diabetes, and their cardiovascular complications.

Work Hours/Shifts:

8am-5pm; M-F

Job Summary:

The Staff Psychotherapist-CfCHR assists the Director of The Center for Physician Wellbeing and the lead psychotherapist at CfCHR with nursing and resident wellbeing initiatives. The range of responsibilities include: facilitating psychoeducational groups for nurses and residents, conducting program evaluation, coordinating the resident wellbeing program, providing counseling to residents and their families, and collaborating with the Creation Health research team. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required:

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Integrated knowledge of mental health diagnoses, psychotherapy delivery in all modalities and psycho-social assessments
  • Excellent public-speaking skills
  • Excellent consultation skills
  • Organizational development knowledge (Preferred)
  • Research skills(Preferred)
  • Master’s Degree in counseling or psychology-related field
  • Ten (10) years of experience in direct clinical assessment and psychotherapy delivery
  • Experience delivering mental health services to physicians(Preferred)
  • Organizational development experience (Preferred)

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:

  • Current valid State of Florida Psychology and/or Mental Health Counselor and/or Marriage and Family Counselor license

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop curriculum, coordinate delivery and facilitate residency wellbeing programs
  • Supports lead psychotherapist on Creation Health Research team in developing nursing wellbeing programs.
  • Conducts individual, couples’, family, and group therapy sessions.
  • Provides assessments and treatment planning for delivery of therapy and group processes.
  • Provides emergency response and debriefing for individuals and teams affected by trauma in the environment.
  • Organizes and facilitates psychoeducational groups.
  • Teaches continuing medical education (CME) course curriculum.
  • Designs and delivers presentations and workshops.
  • Serves on planning committees to develop strategies for nurse wellbeing and mission integration.
  • Supports CPW and CfCHR in additional functions.
