Work Hours/Shift:  FT/Day

You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Manages day to day office operations of the risk management department to ensure key performance indicators are being met
  • Manages the internal quality related event reporting system and ensures data validation occurs a monthly basis
  • Provides oversight and establishes protocols to ensure all risk management files, including original and electronic documents, are maintained, properly stored, and retained according to AHS policy and legal requirements
  • Works collaboratively with AHMG Physicians, appropriate Leadership and Practice Management in the review and resolution of Patient Grievances
  • Participates directly in the identification of adverse events and assesses the potential needs for reporting to regulatory agencies and the AHS Trust

What You Will Need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Health Services Administration or Clinical Specialty
  • Successful completion of Certified Risk Management Course
  • Four (4) years of Risk management, healthcare or related experience
  • Two (2) years of management/leadership experience
Job Summary:

The Senior Manager of Risk Management, under the direction of the IHS Department Director, is responsible for maintaining the internal risk reporting systems, including the review of reported quality related events and management of data validation. The SMR notifies the Director of all potential compensatory and adverse events and manages the initial investigative process to meet regulatory obligations. Additional responsibilities include the Patient Grievance process and Internal Claim Management process. The SMR is responsible for provider affiliated medical malpractice coverage and required educational requirements by the AHS Trust. The SMR maintains the assigned AHMG Risk Management Policies and Procedures and facilitates processes for the AHMG Policies and Procedure Committee. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
