We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Project Manager position that will be based in our PHSO department. This position is based in Maitland, FL. 

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for applying professional principles, practices, and techniques to establish systems of project management for the Population Health Services Organization (PHSO). The Project Management will develop and manage a repeatable process/playbook for managing projects of varied sizes and for creating a portfolio view for the PHSO leadership. They will lead project teams and control project schedule, cost, and performance risks. Has ultimate responsibility for all assigned PHSO projects and manages customer satisfaction, definition, planning, monitoring, and others aspects of a PHSO project. 

Specific job duties include:

  • Develops a project management approach based on project management science and best practices that enable the PHSO to have a standardized approach to project and product line implementation including the ability to share a playbook with potential external clients/customers.
  • Leads and directs high-priority projects, which often require considerable resources and high levels of functional integration and interaction with project sponsor and team. 
  • Coordinates and facilitates delivery of project objectives.
  • Establishes clear ownership for project tasks, ensures that team members have the tools needed, and provides timely feedback. 
  • Assesses project issues and identifies solutions to meet productivity, quality and customer goals.  Proactively communicates project status, issues, and risks to management. 
  • Conducts regular status meetings with all stakeholders, keeping the stakeholder’s needs and requirements continuously in view.
  • Presents project status and issues to leadership level personnel through formal presentations. 
  • Acts as a liaison between business users and implementation team; communicating appropriately and effectively with co-workers, customers, and supervisors.
  • Continually reviews and reevaluates available resources to determine project resource surplus and shortfalls.
  • Train and educate on project management tools and systems as needed.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:   

  • Demonstrate understanding of the four phases of the project life-cycle (concept, design, execution and closeout).
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to lead and manage large, complex programs and projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, plan and execute project deliverables and project scope.
  • Skilled at identifying and managing project risks and scope creep early and often to foresee/identify potential problems, and proactively identify and present solutions to management.
  • Manage resource allocation to ensure proper project prioritization.
  • Ability to train and educate on project management tools and systems as needed
  • Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Project, Visio.
  • Knowledge in health plan or managed care operations (Preferred)

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Engineering or Healthcare
  • 7 years of experience leading large/complex projects

Licensure and Certification Requirements:

  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (Preferred)
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) (Preferred)

  • Follow-Up Monitoring the results of delegations, assignments, or projects, considering the skills, knowledge, and experience of the assigned individual and the characteristics of the assignment or project. 
  • Initiating Action Taking prompt action to accomplish work goals; acting to achieve results beyond what is required; being proactive. 
  • Planning and Organizing Establishing an action plan for self and others to complete work efficiently and on time by setting priorities, establishing timelines, and leveraging resources. 
  • Execution Ensuring others contribute to organization strategies by focusing them on the most critical priorities, measuring progress, and ensuring accountability against those metrics.
