Senior Manager - Oncology Partnerships - Orlando

AdventHealth Orlando seeks to hire a Senior Manager, Oncology Partnerships who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Facility Profile:

Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando, serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America. AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country. We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year.

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager of Partnerships has responsibility building synergistic relationships with other Florida- and Multi-State Division oncology service-line leaders. Supporting existing and new partnerships, the Senior Manager reviews and improves both short- and long-term objectives, policies, and operating procedures, overseeing department managers in the implementation of process and quality improvement initiatives. The Senior Manager leads multidisciplinary teams to implement strategic partnerships and execute multi-year deals. The Senior Manager will be also responsible for overseeing regional, divisional, and corporate-wide oncology partnership projects including, but not limited to, partnership design strategies and implementations, monitoring metrics, and tracking compliance. Responsibilities will extend into new markets and partnerships as AdventHealth and the Cancer Institute continue to grow. With the support of Cancer Institute administration, and relative to partnerships, collaborate with other system Institutes (Cardiovascular, Neuroscience, Orthopedics, Transplant, and Digestive Health and Surgical Advancement), the Senior Manager also: 1) supports strategic planning and visioning, 2) encourages changes to programs and services, 3) supports innovation through a unified market strategy, 4) supports recruitment of provider talent, and 5) coordinates the acquisition of technology and information systems. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required:

  • Strong organization skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of staff
  • Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals

  • Professional decision-making and proposing recommendations on short- and long-term strategy development concerning matters of major importance to our leaders

  • Working knowledge of project management, market research & data analytics, Mindjet and Prezi software platforms. (Preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare or Business Administration or related area or 10 years of applicable work experience

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads teams to execute strategic planning for the cancer program partnerships. As applicable, partners with inpatient oncology nursing, laboratory, pharmacy, pathology, revenue cycle, and imaging to provide connected care to patients.
  • Supports operational leadership and strategic planning for the cancer partnerships, joint ventures, affiliations and alliances across the region, division, state, and corporation

  • Oversees program expansion into target market through development and implementation of affiliate/network/physician strategies.
  • Develops relationships with key customers. Provides leadership that fosters collegial relations among matrix departments, staff, physicians, and business partners to ensure quality service.
  • Oversees development of effective marketing strategies for consumers and physicians.
  • Accountable for assuring compliance and providing evidence of performance with Det Norske Veritas (DNV), Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI), American College of Radiology (ACR), Continuum of Care (CoC), and other regulatory requirements specific to area of responsibility.
  • Adheres to applicable practice standards specific to area of responsibility.
  • Ensures that all departments within scope of responsibility operate within allocated budget.
  • Implements financial strategies to provide effective fiscal management of cancer programs under the Director’s direct control. Participates in preparation of operating and capital budgets.
  • Develops and implements partnership initiatives, processes, and systems, and creates goals that align with organizational and operational strategies, supporting organizational initiatives.
  • Drives business development and competitive strategies.
  • Acts as a supportive change agent, utilizing change theory to plan for the implementation of organizational change. Participates in and leads various committees.
  • Monitors and reports partnership metrics to ensure goals are met. Maintains appropriate scorecards.
  • Participates on local, state, national, and/or international community boards related to oncology.
  • Supports physician representation at significant society and association meetings for the advancement of clinical approaches and government relations, leveraging partnerships.
  • Identifies employment requirements, functions, tasks and job specifications for positions within reporting structure rollup. Assesses job candidates’ skills and experience, and selects top talent in accordance with needs. Identifies future skill sets needed to maintain organizational competitiveness.
  • Oversees overall staffing for assigned area. Ensures staffing is effective and efficient, and promotes core values. Assures that staff is representative of the population diversity through oversight of recruitment, selection and retention of personnel. Ensures that staff are actively engaged in decisions within their scope of practice.
  • Plans and develops a complete succession plan for rollup up to and including own position. Identifies high performing staff and works with Leadership Development and Talent Management to groom staff to meet succession plan timelines and curriculum. Actively mentors others into the leadership role throughout the timeline. Reviews succession plan at least annually and during performance review period.
