Full Time/Day

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Responsible for the management of the security enterprise system at AHNP.

  • Responsible for the management of the Advent Health Fire Safety program which includes regulatory compliance with scheduling drills, exercises and document control on an annual basis. 

  • Acts as the Security Systems Investigator and performs required functions during incident driven events. Functions performed include but not limited to evidence collection through access control, video surveillance and radio communications. 

  • Perform risk assessments and data analytics by utilizing the AHNP Security Incident Software Program.

  • The Security Systems and Safety Specialist is the direct liaison between members of the AHNP Human Resources Department and Shared Service Division for all access control terminations and additions.

  • Support and document ongoing investigations upon request from Human Resources, Risk Management and Legal.

  • Trouble shoot and track software/system issues and take corrective action before system malfunctions.

  • Provide annual, quarterly and monthly required reports for the Environment of Care Committee for the Director of Facilities.

  • Provide daily updates to the Director of Facilities regarding current events.  

  • Perform market surveys and provide recommendations on new cost-effective equipment that incorporates new security technology concepts for the campus interior and exterior.

  • Lead special projects, such as development of new access badges, mass records updates, re-badging, camera installations, access control installations and others as required.

  • Ensure timely delivery or products and services from vendors as required to support the program.

  • Maintain and/or update the Security Management Plan and the Emergency Operations Plan and other required documentation as requested for regulatory compliance.

  • Complies with the Employee Code of Conduct.

  • Demonstrates compliance with all federal, state and local laws; rules and government regulations

  • Verbalizes understanding of reporting process of any actual or perceived violation

  • Recognizes incidents as defined and described in the Hospital’s Institutional Policies and Procedures

  • Understands the method and reasoning for reporting incidents

  • Demonstrates ability to complete the Hospital’s Incident Report Form

  • Assists the Department Directors or others in recognizing and reducing risk within the Departments of the Hospital

  • Demonstrates PRIDE (Personal Responsibility in Daily Endeavors) by providing courteous service, assisting lost guests, and problem solving to meet special needs or requests

  • Performs duties in a timely manner and provides updates if delays occur

  • Communicates with courtesy when interacting with internal or external customers, in person or on the telephone

  • Maintains a professional appearance and manner and adheres to the Hospital’s dress standards

  • Helps ensure a safe environment for guests and staff

  • Demonstrates knowledge of role in the Life Safety Program and manages the annual Fire Drills as appropriate

  • Demonstrates knowledge of role in the Medical Equipment Program and how to report malfunctioning equipment

  • Demonstrates knowledge of role in the Utility Systems Program and the department’s response to utility failure

  • Follows hospital and departmental Infection Control policies and procedures

  • Demonstrates effective communication skills with all team members, patients and families

  • Maintains satisfactory participation and attendance at required and non-required meetings and staff development programs

  • Develops and maintains the coded filing system for reported incidents and Security related activities


Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • Previous experience managing Security Enterprise Programs.
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective security operations for the protection of the people, data, property at AHNP. 

  • Ability to maintain calm composure under stressful conditions.

  • Ability to speak read and write clearly in English.

  • Display sound customer service skills.

  • 1-3 years previous experience in management of hospital or campus security and safety preferred

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Security or Law Enforcement

  • One (2) year experience in a health care environment

  • 2-year college degree (Criminal Justice or Security Management preferred) with similar security, police, military police, correctional officer experience preferred. 

  • Valid Florida Class E driver’s license

  • CHSP-Certificated Healthcare Safety Professional preferred

  • CLSS-HC Certificated Life Safety Specialist- Health Care preferred

Job Summary:

The Security Systems and Safety Specialist oversees the management of all security system components that make up the security enterprise program at Advent Health North Pinellas (AHNP) and the annual Fire Safety Program. The individual is responsible for monitoring compliance with all hospital security and safety policies and following the Joint Commission Environment of Care standards.  The Security Systems and Safety Specialist is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all employees, patients, and visitors.
