Work Hours/Shift:

Full Time / Days

You Will Be Responsible For:

•         Serve as a CTMC liaison for all patient safety evaluation systems (PSES) for the Patient Safety Organization

•         In collaboration with the Director, Risk, Compliance, Pt. Safety, prepares agenda, minutes and follow-up activities to assure progress and implementation of the calendar of presentations at Quality/Patient Safety Council and other venues, as requested.

•         Delivers orientation to new employees and volunteers

•         Runs P2 Sentinel reports for Compliance Plan, as required

•         Assists Quality & Risk with the annual FMEA project as chosen by VP, Patient Care Services, Chief Medical Officer, and the Director of Clinical Effectiveness, based on evidence-based needs.

•         Facilitates or participates in Root Cause Analysis implementation, training, and mentoring

•         In collaboration with the Director of Risk Management, Compliance, Pt. Safety, coordinates activities for Compliance and Legal audits.

•         Assists the Director of Risk Management, Compliance, Pt. Safety with the implementation and completion of annual AHS Monitoring and Auditing Compliance Plan for Hospitals.

•         Supports Legal and Compliance issues

•         Assists the Risk Event Reporting program

•         Assists with Quality triggered Focused Professional Performance Evaluations of medical staff and abstraction of data.

•         Receives and distributes subpoenas to employees to assure patient care is not disrupted; communicates by email to appropriate legal agency, including date and time person was served.

•         Collaborates with Pt. Experience Coordinator, Accreditation Coordinator, and other members of the Clinical Effectiveness Department.

•         Other duties and responsibilities as requested by the Director of Risk, Compliance, Pt. Safety Policy Manager


What You Will Need:

•         Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Nursing.

•         Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas. 

•         Three years’ experience with hospital risk management, safety, or legal experience preferred

•         CPHRM preferred

•         Patient Safety Certification preferred

The primary role of the Risk & Patient Safety Coordinator position is to support the Director of Risk Management, Corporate Responsibility (Privacy officer), Pt. Safety in the management of risk, compliance and safety-related events
