You will be responsible for:

  • Communicates with courtesy when interacting with internal or external customers. 
  • Demonstrates appropriate and courteous phone etiquette.
  • Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.
  • Provides non-direct patient care support services for respiratory therapy department.
  • Management and distribution of Oxygen cylinders including cylinder transport to all patient care areas.
  • Make daily rounds to assigned areas to deliver, check, change and set up equipment.
  • Maintain respiratory supplies areas to optimal par levels.
  • Stock respiratory and oxygen supply equipment in all patient areas.
  • Check all soiled utility rooms for respiratory equipment.
  • Set up ventilator and critical care Bi-level breathing machines including routine operational system checks.
  • Practices standard precautions and enforces safety regulations according to hospital policies on a continual basis.
  • Documents and charges for procedures accurately and completely.
  • Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.
  • Demonstrates culturally competent care into daily practice.
  • Demonstrates organizational commitment standards and values.
  • Adheres to organizational standards for dress and professional appearance.

  • Demonstrate collaboration and teamwork in assisting with patient flow.
  • Take responsibility for decisions, actions and results.
  • Practice financial stewardship as a representative of FHT.
  • Completes any mandatory educational requirements.

 What will you need?

  • Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively.
  • Disassemble, clean, reassemble and test respiratory equipment.
  • Instruct patients on the use of Incentive Spirometry.
  • Working knowledge of and ability to use computer and perform data entry.
  • Ensure Infection Control.
  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire
  • Previous experience in hospital setting (preferred).  
  • Previous hospital materials management experience (preferred).
  • Student enrolled in a 2 or 4 year Accredited Respiratory Care Program (preferred).
