Rehab Clinical Hand Program Manager – Rehabilitation – RDV

AdventHealth seeks to hire an Rehab Clinical Hand Program ManagerManager who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Work Hours/Shifts:

Monday – Friday; 7:00am – 7:00pm (Hours may vary)



Job Summary:

The Rehab Clinical Hand Program Manager provides direct and indirect services to specific age groups in the acute care, inpatient and/or outpatient rehabilitation settings. Facilitates staff development by assessing needs, developing and implementing a plan. Facilitates program development though the use of evidence practices. Develops clinical instructors and clinical internships. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.



Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required:

  • Professional competency of discipline/program specific practices, theory, principles and applications as defined in departmental competencies policy
  • Basic computer skills to include Outlook, Microsoft Office and Windows (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist (OT), Physical Therapist (PT), or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in hospital, home health or outpatient setting as applicable and specific to unit(s) and scope of practice
  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy as applicable and specific to unit(s) and scope of practice (Preferred)


Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:

  • Licensed in state of Florida as an Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, or Speech-Language Pathologist as applicable and specific to unit(s) and scope of practice
  • If licensed as a Physical Therapist: Clinical Instructor Certificate from American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate
  • If licensed as an Occupational Therapist or Speech-Language Pathologist: Clinical Instructor course completed from American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) (Preferred)
  • Hand Therapy Certification


Job Responsibilities:

Demonstrates through behavior AdventHealth’s Core Values of Keep Me Safe, Love Me, Make it Easy, and Own it as outlined in the organization’s Performance Excellence Program.

  • Performs evaluations, treatment and discharges according to standards of practice, accrediting bodies, department policies, and payers’ guidelines. Documents using measurable and objective data and terminology. Charges accurately, completely and timely according to guidelines of the CPT codes format, price file and payer guidelines.
  • Act as a liaison between OT/PT/SLP Colleges and AdventHealth. Coordinates clinical practices and ensures compliance with rules and regulations of the discipline professional organization. Facilitates clinical instructors and interns experience throughout the internship/externship. Assists with the processing, orientation and assignment of volunteers. Actively engages in activities to improve internal and external awareness of Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine as a service line.
  • Actively participates in the development of staff clinical skills. Assesses staff educational needs, develops and implements a structured plan, and addresses clinical performance variances timely.
  • Plans and implements employee engagement activities. Systematically provides staff with feedback regarding their performance. Counsels staff as needed, documents counseling sessions, monitors compliance and works with HR regarding disposition as needed. Completes staff performance appraisals accurately, legibly and within established time frame. Ensures employee’s department file complies with HR and accrediting bodies’ rules and regulations.
  • Collaborates with team managers/office manager in the hiring, orientation, coaching and counseling of staff. Provides input and feedback for performance appraisals. Assists with the development and completion of staff competencies and PT residencies.
  • Coordinates continued education courses using internal and external resources. Helps build a human network of clinical experts to be shared across AdventHealth Rehabilitation and sports Medicine settings. Enforces the use of evidence-based practices as the standard of care.
  • Acts as the subject matter expert for discipline/program specific practice act, scope of practice, licensure requirements for national and state regulating agencies/organizations.
  • Meets at least 90% of the productivity standard.
  • When available and required assists with team manager’s duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensures staff and self compliance with FH Compliance Plan, rules and regulations of all local, state, and federal agencies, and with the standards of all accrediting bodies and payers as evident through documentation reviews, and patient safety rounds results. Takes responsibility for the environment of care by monitoring and taking action as needed.
  • Collaborates with other managers, educators and clinical leads in the development of patients and families educational materials. Assists with the development of stakeholders educational and training materials.
