Other special services include, a Center for Wound Healing,  CREATION® Health Wellness Center, CREATION® Health Spa, home health, imaging center, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, and physical, occupational, and speech therapy.

Community Description

Florida Hospital Zephyrhills is located in in East Pasco County, about 50 miles northeast of Tampa. Because it is part of one of the fastest growing counties in the nation, the area has excellent schools and easy access to metropolitan amenities, including international airports, fine dining, professional and collegiate athletics, shopping, amusement parks, arts and theatre. Pasco County is also part of Florida’s Nature Coast, which includes numerous hiking trails, parks, beaches and opportunities for outdoor recreation.
You will be responsible for:
  • Provides direct and indirect patient care in an in/out-patient wound care setting.  Responsible for the assessment, planning, and implementation of care of chronic wounds.
  • Utilizes the nursing process, plan of care creation and reassessment, and age specific considerations to provide quality care to the patient.
  • Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.
  • Promotes patient’s independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patients, friends, and family to understand condition, treatment, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions.
  • Consults other healthcare professionals/departments as appropriate to provide an interdisciplinary approach to patient’s needs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations with the assistance of health care support personnel.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration, and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
  • Completes documentation per organizational/departmental policy.
  • Ensures safe and efficient use of equipment; troubleshooting malfunctions and following procedures for repair.
  • Facilitate clinical patient progression through a defined plan of care to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Performs all Case Management responsibilities as assigned
  • Demonstrates the ability to assist physicians with procedures, perform all patient treatments and services requiring clinical/technical skills
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform treatments and provide services related to all aspects of job performance in a time efficient manner.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work together as a team by participating equally in the completion of all shared responsibilities.
  • Attends departmental and hospital required in-services, staff meetings, and training programs
  • Attends seminars, conferences, and continuing education classes, stays current with changes and advances in in all areas of wound care/hyperbaric medicine and shares new information by providing departmental in services and acting as a resource to all staff.
  • Assists in developing, implementing and evaluating policies and procedures within the department
  • Reports to work as scheduled and completes work within designated time
What will you need:
  •  Excellent Organization and interpersonal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills, organizational skills, ability to prioritize
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Minimum of two years of wound care experience
    Wound Care Class within 1 year
  • Current Florida state Registered Nurse licensure
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification
  • Certification in Wound Care (Preferred)
  • Certification in Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatments (Preferred)
  • Certification in Ostomy care (Preferred)
