Our multi-facility campus includes 148 acute-care beds at Metroplex Adventist Hospital in Killeen, 60 psychiatric care beds in the nearby Metroplex Behavioral Health Center, and 25 beds at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas. Through this Metroplex Health System, we offer a Women’s Center, Sleep Disorder Center, Endoscopy Center, Pediatric Rehabilitation Center, ICU, PCU, ED, imaging, surgery, home health services, and more.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Support the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  2. Assess patient’s postoperative status at intervals according to facility or health care organization policies and procedures 
  3. Interpret information accurately from various noninvasive and invasive monitors.
  4. Describe the underlying pathophysiology of commonly encountered disease processes.
  5. Describe the physiology associated with various anesthesia techniques and surgical or procedural interventions.
  6. Apply the relevant scoring system/discharge criteria for patient transfer (eg, Aldrete Score, Modified Aldrete Score [ie, PARSAP], Post Anesthesia Discharge Scoring System [PADSS], White) score accurately as defined by organizational policy.
  7. Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
  8. Evaluate the patient’s progress toward attaining outcomes.
  9. Document nursing care completely, accurately, and legibly.
  10. Use critical thinking, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with team members.
  11. Maintain required competencies.
  12. Pursue professional growth and participate in a professional organization.
  13. Act as a patient advocate and maintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.
  14. Any additional duties assigned that are in support of perioperative patient care.


Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Ability to function at a high level in a physically demanding, high-stress environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work under stressful conditions
  • Ability to work irregular hours including call hours

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:


Graduate from an accredited school of nursing


LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:


  • Current state of Texas registered nurse licensure
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
