Work Hours/Shift:

PRN Days

 

You Will Be Responsible For:

  1. Provides exceptional, timely service to employees who require assistance.

  2. Manages workload to account for scheduled appointments, walk ins, annual employee campaigns.

  3. Meets with all new hires to perform intake visit – medical history review, testing, charting/documentation as required for their position.

  4. In coordination with Benefits Specialist and AdventHealth Worker’s Compensation, manages the initial testing and appointment setup for injured employees.  Provides education to injured employee. Assists with light duty placements, as needed, for work related injuries. Maintains impeccable records and compliance with worker’s compensation laws and AdventHealth policies.

  5. Partners with house supervisors to ensure consistency in employee health services on off hours or when Employee Health RN is out of the office.

  6. Stays abreast of changes in best practices related to employee health and occupational medicine, by participation with AOHP, webinars, journals, etc.

  7. Manages inventory of masks, vaccinations, and all other supplies / medications needed to provide service to employees.

  8. Keeps accurate and thorough records on all employees. Maintains information as required by HIPPA, AdventHealth policies, and regulatory bodies’ standards.

  9. Takes the lead on facility-wide campaign for influenza vaccinations. Provides education to employees, administers vaccine, and maintains records of participation each year.

  10. Manages annual TB compliance for clinical staff.

  11. Manages annual mask fit testing for required employees. Administers fit tests, maintains documentation and provides reporting as needed.

  12. Participates as a member at Environment of Care and Infection Control meetings as needed. Attends other meetings on ad hoc basis as needed.

  13. Understands the strategies and goals of Workers Comp, Occupational Health, and Employee Health and Wellness areas.  Translates those strategies and goals into EH/Wellness deliverables.

  14. Understands the employee population and anticipates their concerns, needs and issues.

  15. Assists Department Leadership, organizational leadership and employees with EH and Wellness issues.

  16. Responsible for the EH portion of the “employee experience”

  17. Ensures data accuracy and integrity for all employee EH/Wellness interaction


Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of Employee Health practices, Occupational Health Issues and Worker’s Compensation.

  • Knowledge of AOHP guidelines, standard of care.

  • Knowledge of CDC guidelines, AHCA, DNV, JC standards and regulations.

  • Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals.

  • Highly analytical and detail oriented with strong organizational, communication, record keeping, and multi-tasking skills required.

  • Demonstrated critical thinking skill with a strong customer and patient focus.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Work programs.

  • Ability to maintain in strict confidence all personal information and must possess and model the highest level of personal integrity.

  • Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, in English.

  • Ability to understand and effectively help facilitate strategies and goals and organizational objectives.

  • Knowledge of occupational health software preferred, especially Systoc.

  • Cerner knowledge preferred.

  • Graduate of an accredited school for Registered Nursing upon hire.

  • Minimum of associates degree in nursing, newly graduated nurses will be considered.

  • Valid Florida State RN license required upon hire

  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification required upon hire

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Manager of Employee Health Services, the Employee Health Nurse, is a registered professional nurse who provides and manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating) and the principles of primary nursing to achieve the goals of the nursing department. The Employee Health Nurse provides services and education to employees and volunteers.  The Employee Health RN works independently and autonomously.  Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, deliver an excellent program and work with a variety of individuals throughout the organization is crucial.

Primary aspects of department include, but not limited to, new hire screenings and clearance; volunteer screenings and clearance; reviewing new contractor immunization documentation for HR; employee education; training and supervising volunteers in the department; fit testing; annual testing for employees, volunteers and physicians; tracking and reporting to meet regulatory standards; overseeing the influenza immunization program for the entire facility; employee vaccinations; exposures; Workers Compensation investigations and follow up; return to work; and all paperwork/documentation for department.  The RN adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.  All duties are performed in accordance with established departmental and Hospital policies and procedures.  The RN actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all, while implementing the principles of AdventHealth Wesley Chapel.
