You will be responsible for:
  • ASSESSMENT
    • Assesses learning needs of staff in methodical, approved manner.
    • Reports findings of assessments to appropriate personnel.
    • Incorporates findings of assessments into daily activities and program development.
  • PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
    • Develops evidence-based program or workshop as appropriate.
    • Develops programs for unit or group specific, based on identified educational needs or staff/nursing leadership requests
    • Develops cost saving measure that impacts department or overall nursing budget
    • Develops and implements class or program for advanced assessment training. 
    • Develops and presents poster presentation with research or evidence-based focus.
    • Develops advanced training and programs for Resource Nurses.
    • Develops evidence based protocols.
    • Leads a team or committee in the development of an evidence-based protocol or program, either within area of specialty or organization wide.
    • Utilizes learning theories, behavioral theories, and framework to design or revise staff or patient education.
    • Develops creative educational offering for nursing staff and participates in the implementation.
    • Provides national certification prep classes.
  • EVALUATION
    • Analyzes content of program materials for best-practice or evidence-based practice. 
    • Uses the results of evaluation analysis to make or recommend process or structural changes, including policy, procedure, protocols, or documentation.
  • OUTCOMES
    • Proactively intervenes in complex patient situation that requires education, which results in improved patient outcome.
    • Mentors staff and students on unit by providing guidance and support through orientation and integration into the health care team. 
    • Provides consultation for coordination of systems and resources to implement the plan of care for complex patients or patient populations
    • Facilitates unit based or organizational competency validation, specific to cultural/spiritual needs, by developing skill content to be tested or acts as content expert and validates competency.
    • Demonstrates advocacy role at the local, state, or national level.
    • Mentors nurses preparing to take national certification exam.
    • Is involved locally with hospitals or health care organizations that focus on professional growth and development (i.e. HCC Advisory Board, Tampa Bay Consortium, USF Clinical Collaborative).

Qualifications
What will you need?
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with Master’s Degree in Nursing or related specialty area.
  • Five or more years of nursing practice experience.
  • One year of practice in which leadership and teaching competence has been demonstrated.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Florida or Licensure from another state with verification of application and eligibility for Florida licensure by endorsement.
