Facility Description

On October 1, 1973 the facility opened its doors to the public and was known as Community General Hospital. The facility offered 64-beds, 5-bed ICU, 8-bed nursery, and a 2-room operating suite. Since this time Florida Hospital Health Dade City  has under gone many changes and improvements that have led the award winning facility to a 120-bed acute care hospital of comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and diagnostic services. Located here in Dade City, the facility offers services in the areas of Sleep Lab Center, 24/7 Emergency Room, Cardiac Catheterization Suite, Intensive Care Unit, Laboratory, Digital Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Physical and Speech Therapy, Pain Management, Ultrasound, Bariatric Services, and more. Florida Hospital Dade City is ranked among the Nation’s Best for General Surgery and The Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA) designated Florida Hospital  Dade City as a Primary Stroke Center in January 2010. In 2013 the facility was Accredited as a Chest Pain Center and was recognized as the only facility in East Pasco to be Joint Commission’s Top Performers on Key Quality Measures. We are recognized for achieving these thresholds for heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care. September 2014 we received A-Fib accreditation. 

November 2015 Florida Hospital Dade City was recognized by The Joint Commission as a 2014 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures. Such an achievement reflects our commitment to excellence by following evidence-based practice shown to improve patient outcomes. 

April 2017 we received our Chest Pain Center re-accreditation and we are now accredited with PCI and Resuscitation. There are only 9 hospitals with this accreditation in the state of Florida including us and we are now a part of the 53 hospitals nationwide.

You will be responsible for:
  • Demonstrates leadership ability and role models superior customer service.
  • Contributes to the day-to-day clinical operations management of assigned nursing unit.
  • Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patient needs are met and hospital policy is followed
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the nursing process.
  • Acts as a resource to staff; providing assistance in difficult patient care situations.
  • Interacts professionally with all people.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist physicians with procedures.
  • Resolves patient and family concerns/complaints as well as investigate and follow-up on patient care complaints by physicians and/or staff.
  • Updates the Unit Manager/Director on pertinent issues on a daily basis.
  • Contributes to staff annual evaluations and participates in and provides employee disciplines/warnings under the guidance of the Director.
Qualifications
What will you need:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Staff Nurse.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
  • Current Florida licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • BLS Certification required. ACLS must be obtained within 6 months
  • Additional languages (Preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing ((Preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a Leadership/Supervisory role (Preferred)
