Our multi-facility campus includes 148 acute-care beds at Metroplex Adventist Hospital in Killeen, 60 psychiatric care beds in the nearby Metroplex Behavioral Health Center, and 25 beds at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas. Through this Metroplex Health System, we offer a Women’s Center, Sleep Disorder Center, Endoscopy Center, Pediatric Rehabilitation Center, ICU, PCU, ED, imaging, surgery, home health services, and more.
Qualifications
What will you be doing?
Performs radiology patient exam management and flow, including but not limited to, check in, screening paper work, information, instructions, requisition flow, order corrections and coordination, phone support for radiologists, nursing units, physicians, scheduling and registration communications.  Enhances imaging technologist, nurse and other radiology staff efficiencies by assisting in a wide array of working task.  Position requires the ability to properly exercise independent judgment, in sometimes adverse situations   Behavior and communication skills must always be in keeping with the organizations standards of behavior policy.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Adheres to the hospital and department policies and procedures as related to the radiology department clinical area.
  • Responsible for assisting in the application of imaging guidelines and standards in accordance with current practices.
  1. Patient Care activities include, but not limited to:
  2. Follows supervisor’s direction and job assignments daily with flexibility as changes necessitate.
  3. Reviews imaging orders and correctly matches patients to be treated in each of the imaging modalities within radiology. 
  4. Ensures correct patient for each procedure using proper standards for identification.
  5. Communicates with all patients professionally at all times while looking for opportunities to exceed their expectations.
  • Provides information as requested by patients within training scope during imaging procedure process.
  • Maintains cleanliness and proper working order of assigned equipment and work areas, with emphasis on appearance.
  • Assist hospital staff and physicians with imaging information as appropriate, and relays pertinent information to proper staff for disposition.
  • Greets and assists patients when visiting the department and when assistance is necessary while in the hospital.
  1. Immediately provides supervisor with detailed information on any safety concerns for patients or staff that may impact care or overall wellbeing.
  2. Has knowledge of and understands current JCAHO Standards for the clinical aspect of the department.
  3. Promotes teamwork with physicians and all health care providers.
  4. Actively participates in Patient Experience / Performance Improvement projects for clinical areas.
  • Activity participates in assigned meetings.
What you will need?
  • Knowledgeable with Medical terminology.    
  • BLS from AHA
  • Prefer 2 years of hospital radiology experience
