Work Hours/Shift

Per Diem/Days

You will be responsible for:

  • Operate radiation producing equipment according to department and vendor guidelines to deliver radiation therapy as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.
  • Verifies lab work prior to treatment; obtains approval prior to treatment if lab values are below the recommended ranges specified by the Radiation Oncologist.
  • Identify the treatment volume, duplicating the simulation films and treatment plans.
  • Rotates through simulator, accelerators, and HDR; able to perform assigned duties in each, including QA performance.
  • Observes symptoms/reactions to treatment and reports to RN and/or Radiation Oncologist.


Qualifications

What you will need:

  • Minimum A.S. degree and graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapist program.
  • State of FL Radiologic Technologist (Radiation Therapy Technologist) license.
  • ARRT(T) certification
  • BLS from American Heart Association

Job Summary:

The role of the Radiation Therapist is to administer safe and compassionate radiation treatment to cancer patients according to the plans prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.  The Radiation Therapist is responsible for the safety of the patient and for observing and documenting any reactions to treatments.  The Radiation Therapist is also responsible to maintain equipment and follow all safety regulations regarding radiation exposure.
