Process Improvement and Quality Assurance Manager - Infusion - Revenue Cycle CPA Support - Maitland

AdventHealth Maitland seeks to hire a Process Improvement and Quality Assurance Manager who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando, serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America. AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country. We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year.

Job Summary:

The Process Improvement and Quality Assurance Manager, in collaboration with sites, system, and physician offices, leads system-wide process improvement projects in Infusion Center Departments to improve operational, clinical, and other business improvements that are aligned with organizational goals and objectives. Deploys efforts to improve department performance across the sites. Accountable for quality outcomes across all infusion center departments including scheduling, benefits and authorization, registration, financial counseling, and billing. Trains new employees, offers continuing and compliance education to staff, develops training materials and online CBL presentations as necessary, and reports staff completion outcomes to Leadership. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.



Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required:

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook,)
  • High proficiency in Cerner (Preferred)
  • Five years of experience (including two years supervisory experience) in Revenue Cycle Department or related area
  • Two to four years of performance improvement training/experience
  • Two years of Oncology experience
  • Infusion center experience at a supervisory level or above (Preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare or Health Services Administration, Health Information Management, or related field (Preferred)



Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:

  • Train-the-Trainer certification(Preferred)
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt or related process improvement certification (Preferred)



Job Responsibilities:

Demonstrates through behavior AdventHealth’s Core Values of Keep Me Safe, Love Me, Make it Easy, and Own it as outlined in the organization’s Performance Excellence Program.
  • Creates and implements all training materials for infusion center staff. Coordinates training new staff through New Hire Department Orientation processes according to AH Human Resources compliance and guidelines for all new employees.
  • Manages process for each new training class by creating new hire employee document file and appropriately managing all training material packets including orientation workbooks, videos, presentations, AdventHealth required Compliance CBL's, and appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Offers continuing compliance education to all infusion staff, developing training materials as necessary. Maintains education documentation provided to staff for historical compliance purposes.
  • Attends Non-Clinical Educator and Infusion Department Management meetings on-site to ensure departmental compliance with all hospital directives and initiatives impacting department. Travels to sites to coordinate special training activities as requested by Leadership. Creates Infusion Revenue Cycle requested compliance or continuing education training material, including creating presentations distributing to all staff.
  • Identifies and assesses Infusion Center performance improvement needs in areas such as technical quality, customer service, patient experience, asset utilization, and financial performance. Implements new processes within the infusion centers including involvement with project plans, writing process and educational manuals, evaluating current processes to determine appropriate use, and providing oversight and assistance to staff to improve performance and productivity. Collaborates with Clinical Process Improvement liaison for AdventHealth Infusion Centers.
  • Creates and develops comprehensive department improvement plans to address identified needs. Organizes and prioritizes workflow processes. Develops and manages tools to monitor key performance data in retrospective and real time views. Creates and distributes SOP’s for all new infusion center revenue cycle processes.
  • Directly supervises quality improvement staff, with responsibility for hiring, evaluating, and counseling/terminating as necessary.
  • Accountable for the daily, weekly, and/or monthly reports process to ensure quality metrics are being met in all infusion departments including scheduling, benefits and authorization, registration, financial counseling, and billing.
  • Performs various audits to ensure 100% compliance with quality metrics as set by department leadership. Presents written and verbal directions to employees on their performance, provides continuing education, and coordinates with their leader progressive discipline as necessary.
  • Performs supervisory functions to monitor and evaluate employee performance according to guidelines established by Department Director and Human Resources Department of AH.
