Police Officer -  Texas Health Huguley- operated as joint venture between Texas Health Resources and AdventHealth

Work Hours/Shift:

PRN

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Responsible for ensuring the safe environment and controlling traffic in the Emergency Department

  • Monitors patients, their families and visitors in the Emergency Department for appropriate behavior

  • Interacts and controls violent or potentially violent situations, following the city’s Police Department rules and regulations on excessive force

  • Assists with the control of traffic inside the Emergency Room (ER) and around the parking area in front of the ER as well as those entering the hospital after hours

  • Monitors the front lobby area on a regular basis

  • Assists with violent or potentially violent situations within the hospital when requested

  • Assists the Nursing Staff with patient transfers or other tasks the officer feels comfortable performing as requested

  • Conducts arrests as appropriate in association with appropriate law enforcement agencies

  • Reports any issues or concerns immediately to the Director of Emergency Department or ER Nurse in charge

 

 


Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • Ability to speak, read and write in the English language

  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Ability to communicate and present effectively in both written and oral forms internally and externally

  • Ability to motivate co-workers to function effectively as a team in a challenging environment

  • Ability to assess risk and follow a proactive approach

  • Six months experience required as a Police Officer

  • Police Officer commissioned by State and employed by the City

Job Summary:

Assure the safety and well-being of patients, families and employees and controls the flow of traffic in the Emergency Room.
