You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Regularly visits with physicians and their staff in the physician’s office.  Maintains communication with physicians on CTMC staff, keeping them apprised of hospital services, processes, issues and items of interest.
  • Quickly relays input gathered from physicians to Administration and appropriate hospital management for appropriate follow-up and follow-through.
  • Is instrumental in communicating then facilitating quick resolution of concerns and implementation of key ideas and reporting same back to physician(s) involved.
  • Coordinates the orientation of the new physicians in the CTMC Service Area
  • Works in conjunction with Administration, Nursing, Medical Staff Office, PR/Marketing Department and other key stakeholders to create and effectively execute methods of engaging physicians more by recognizing physicians for their accomplishments and support of CTMC, i.e. press releases, promotions, speaking opportunities, accomplishments, Doctor’s Day, birthdays, donations, etc.
  • Monitors admission trends and statistics on a monthly basis and updates Administration of these trends.
  • Keeps “in tune” with medical community in Hays and surrounding counties, and report critical issues to CEO/President of CTMC.
  • Cultivates good working relationships with directors of other departments utilizing various resources.
  • Works closely with Medical Staff, Nursing, Performance Improvement, MIS and PR/Marketing personnel
  • Working with Admin. and PR/Marketing, serves as a source for content for monthly physician newsletter Central Line.
  • Remains aware and sensitive to community health issues and the perception of how CTMC meets those needs.
  • Works with the CTMC CREATION Health Institute with efforts such as community education programs, health fairs and annual events such as CTMC’s HealthCheck to maximize engagement and outcomes for CTMC Medical Staff physicians.
  • Understands and stays informed of the medical and legal issues impacting services in the hospital and physician office settings and takes steps to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations and standards
  • Maintains confidentiality of physicians, patients and departmental information at all times.
  • Adheres to all professional, ethical, moral, and legal standards promoted by CTMC and Advent Health.
  • Identifies potential referral sources and develops, fosters, nurtures and maintains strong relationships with decisions-makers at these facilities

  • Maintains good working relationships with existing referrals sources to enhance referral retention and gain new business through referrals

  • Identifies and executes opportunities to strengthen physician referrals and works to identify and remove access barriers to a fluid internal referral system

  • Maintains strong working relationships with service line leaders, hospital administration and key physicians

  • Assist with internal hospital events, initiatives and other duties as assigned.

  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Handle multiple projects, prioritize and reprioritize based on changing circumstances and organize requests, resources and responsibilities.
  • Effective communication is essential to ensure quality patient care and to avoid misunderstanding, errors and miscommunications which could have a detrimental effect on the health, safety and well-being of physicians, patients and co-workers.  Therefore, an employee in this position is required to have the capability of fluently speaking, reading, and writing English. Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations. Write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals and PR briefs. Effectively present information and respond to questions from individual physician groups of managers, customers and the general public.
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.  Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four year college or university required; MBA or similar graduate degree preferred.
  • Previous healthcare and/or experience with physicians required.

Job Summary:

This is a strategic customer service position primarily designed to develop, maintain, expand and enhance current, new and future relationships between CTMC and Physicians in its service area to enhance the commitment of these physicians to, wherever and whenever possible, utilize the various entities and programs of Central Texas Medical Center. Secondarily, the person in this position will serve as a primary point of contact for physicians to address concerns and issues by serving as the facilitator in providing solutions through existing CTMC systems and resources. Thirdly, the position will also provide support to other CTMC departments and entities by educating physicians and their office staff regarding CTMC services, processes and systems.  This position also cultivates and develops relationships with potential business partners and leverages these relationships in order to grow market share, service volume, and brand recognition.
