You Will Be Responsible For:


•               Conducts research by regularly meeting with leadership and management of the six AdventHealth Hospital campuses and/or AdventHealth Medical Group (AHMG) to identify the need for additional or replacement providers. Assists the CEO, COO, CFO, CMO, service line Vice Presidents, Directors, Assistant Directors, and/or the Physician Strategy team with the development of a specific recruiting plan for each of the campuses or specialty institutes within AdventHealth’s geographic service area. Regularly collaborates and consults with the above mentioned leadership teams to ensure strategic and tactical recruitment plans are designed to meet the business objectives of AdventHealth and AdventHealth Medical Group. Understands necessary approval process before a search is launched to ensure all required parties are supportive to recruit.

•               Market Understanding - Develops and maintains an understanding of the Central Florida medical community and familiar with the provider and political landscape of the market service area related to each medical and surgical specialty. Anticipates current market trends and their effects on talent acquisition and retention.  Maintains a working knowledge of the specialty service lines and future strategies of the AdventHealth campuses and institutes along with AHMG practices. Maintains an understanding of national and local healthcare trends and the impact it may have on provider recruitment. 

•               Works to develop and deliver a customized sourcing plan for each search to attract and retain high-caliber qualified candidates. Works as needed to source the highest quality candidates through available tools, i.e. PracticeMatch, PracticeLink, internet, direct mailings, Kontact Intelligence, emailing residency and fellowship programs, social media, and attending provider career fairs and specialty society meetings/conferences etc., to help establish a pool of potential candidates.  Also works with designated recruitment and personnel agencies to identify potential provider candidates.  Maintains active candidate communication tracked in Kontact Intelligence.  Maintain relationships with residency or other training programs through meetings and educational sessions to cultivate future candidates.

•               Screens applicants through CV review, phone interviews, emails, and video conferencing according to established criteria. Conduct reference, FACIS, and background checks as required.  Recommends qualified candidates to hospital and/or AHMG leadership or physician leaders for interviews and follow-up discussion.  Promotes the mission of the organization by seeking to recruit those physicians who will actively support AdventHealth’s mission to Extend the Healing Ministry of Christ. 

•               Proactively and consistently communicates the recruitment plan, process, and progress of each search with providers and management at the AdventHealth campuses and AdventHealth Medical Group. Works to maintain alignment between the leadership teams of AdventHealth and AHMG.  Maintains an open line of communication with all current medical staff and seeks input on all aspects of recruiting.

•               Maintains a liaison relationship with other AdventHealth Departments, such as CentraHealth Network, and affiliated organizations.  Seeks assistance and direction from the Director and Assistant Director and appropriate individuals when confronted with issues outside the scope of defined responsibilities. 

•               Finance / Budget - Maintains an understanding of current compensation and compliance requirements as set forth and governed by Adventist Health System Physician Enterprise and Compliance. Regularly meet with the AdventHealth Medical Group finance department to ensure proformas are aligned with the provider strategy and business objectives of the organization as it relates to specific candidates. Actively works to keep department operating expenses in line with the approved physician recruitment budget for the fiscal year.

•               Helps to organize candidate travel, visits/tours, arranges and sets itineraries for meetings and introductions to appropriate physicians and leaders at a campus level during a provider’s stay.  Gains feedback and insight from these same leaders and physicians to help provide a comprehensive evaluation of the candidate.

•               Understands the terms, issues, and items necessary to lead a candidate through the contracting phase.  Leads candidate through negotiation process by presenting requested counter terms and/or items to appropriate administration for review and approval.  Also follows, assists, and tracks process of licensing, malpractice, and hospital credentialing. 

•               Maintains a positive and caring attitude, proper attendance and dress code, punctuality, a professional manner, and maintains strict confidentiality of provider information and departmental and organizational information. 

Qualifications

•         Minimum of two years’ experience in health care.


Job Summary:

This position assumes a major role in assisting with, directing and tracking the recruitment of providers (physicians and/or APP’s) for the six AdventHealth campuses in the East Florida area, AdventHealth Medical Group, AdventHealth and private practices.  It also provides professional guidance and support for the selection, recruitment and retention of providers in response to the needs of AdventHealth (and some private physician practices) within the hospitals’ service area.  Communicates regularly with AdventHealth system leadership, key campus administrators, service line administrators, AHMG management, operations directors, and recruitment directors regarding the status and direction of candidates and opportunities, as well as practice leaders or office managers regarding strategies within private opportunities.  Performs other job-related duties as may be assigned.  Full-time (40 hours), salaried position (M-F) with variable hours as required to meet job standards.  Some in-state or out of state travel may be required.  Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
