You will be responsible for:

  • Communicates with courtesy when interacting with internal or external customers-in person or on the telephone.

  • Identifies opportunities for cost savings in the department or the hospital
  • Develops, implements, and maintains ongoing training program for Clinical Information Systems for physicians, their staff, and other clinicians as needed. This will include training manuals, computer based training, and identifying and coordinating education credits
  • Serves as a Physician resource throughout assigned facility and entire division. 
  • Facilitates required physician training (clinical or computer) as necessary
  • Collaborates with other departments as necessary to meet physician and office staff educational needs
  • Participates in user groups as appropriate. 
  • Offers guidance and resolves physician related issues.
  • Responds to physicians’ computer problems (hardware and software) as soon as possible, taking appropriates steps to resolve in a timely manner
  • Works with Clinical Informatics Department to assist in preparing policies and procedures, training materials, and provide any necessary information to physicians and clinicians (including downtime and recovery procedures)
  • Maintains working knowledge of organization activities, applications, concepts and operations procedures.  Also communicates suggestions, criticisms and questions to Information Services Director and Clinical Informatics Manager
  • Assist with pilot programs and any post implementation projects
  • Work with PACS administrator to insure remote access is readily available
  • Required to respond to emergency situations (i.e., disasters, hurricanes, etc.) by reporting to department and staying until the crisis is over or position is covered by incoming personnel. 
  • This is a mandatory requirement.

  • Attends/participates in mandatory facility-wide and department training/meetings as required (including but not limited to: annual mandatory education, safety training, etc.).  Is able to demonstrate and apply knowledge of fire, safety, security, disaster procedure regulations and National Patient Safety Goals as presented in orientation, outlined in safety manual, and as pertains to each work area.

  • Demonstrates ability to be self-directed with excellent organizational, analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in multitasking
  • Willing and able to train Physicians and sign off on their competencies
  • Ability to collaborate with other Team members on issue resolution and ways to improve training, competencies, and outcomes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to explain, support, and follow recommended processes
  • Able to work in a stressful environment
  • Active listening skills to fully understand and interpret what the physicians are saying
  • Associates degree
  • 3 years of more of healthcare experience
  • Associates Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
  • I-Connect/Cerner Applications experience (Preferred)
  • Current licensure and/or certification if applicable
