Physical Therapy Aide II/Technical Aide – Rehab Clinic – Lake Mary – Part Time

AdventHealth seeks to hire a Physical Therapist Aide who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.



Facility Profile:

The AdventHealth Lake Mary Emergency Room (ER) is an extension of our AdventHealth Altamonte Campus – located just north of Orlando. The 18,000-square-foot facility features state-of-the-art emergency healthcare serving the residents of Seminole County. The 24-bed ER includes an urgent care track to diagnose and treat non-emergent cases more efficiently, an observation unit to closely monitor care for up to 24 hours, and offers emergent care with a helicopter pad onsite. Work Hours/Shifts:

Tuesday 11:00am – 7:00pm, Thursday 7:00am – 12:00pm, Friday 1:00pm – 6:00pm



Job Summary:

Non-licensed worker who is specifically trained to perform duties necessary to expedite the efficient functioning of the department. As allowed by State Practice Act and under the supervision of a therapist/therapist assistant/ATC/RN, assists with providing direct and indirect services to a specific age group in the acute care, inpatient and/or outpatient rehabilitation settings. Adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies, and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.



Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required:

  • Basic computer skills to include Outlook, Microsoft Office and Windows (Preferred)
  • High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)


Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification per specialty
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification (Preferred)


Job Responsibilities:

  • Works without close supervision, consulting with supervisors/managers when appropriate, seeking approval and advice on situations outside personal authority and expertise as observed by the Team Manager/RN.
  • Maintains professional and functional work environment by keeping equipment and work areas clean, appropriately stocked and orderly. Assists in maintaining all department equipment in safe and proper working order by checking it prior to use. Completes reports and work orders and sequesters all confirmed or suspected malfunctioning equipment. Ensures that electrical equipment is maintained (PM checks) on a yearly or on as needed basis, as evident by maintaining timely, accurate and legible records.)
  • Anticipates needs and prepares to assist with patient care. Ensures patient and staff safety by recognizing situations which place patient or staff at risk and responds appropriately.
  • Assists staff with patient care, treatment and other tasks by correctly and promptly carrying out assigned activities/duties.
  • Demonstrates approach and communication skills appropriate to the population served, which may include: Neonate/Infant (birth < 1), Pediatric (1 < 12 yrs), Adolescent (12 < 18 yrs), Adult (18 < 65 yrs) and Geriatric (65 + yrs).
  • Assists in other work assigned/requested, with clerical duties and marketing functions.
  • Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.
  • Willingly adjusts and adapts to changes in workload by altering working hours to assist in other areas/centers/programs as approved and observed by supervisor/manager.
  • Practices principles of employee and patient safety when performing daily job activities via observation.
  • Complies with FH Compliance Plan, rules and regulations of all local, state, and federal agencies, and with the standards of all accrediting bodies and payors as evident through documentation reviews, tracers and rounds results.
