Work Hours/Shift:
Full-Time Day shift

You Will Be Responsible For:

•         Responsible for monitoring the activity of Self Pay follow up and Self Pay vendors

•         Manage all Self Pay activity in the Revenue Cycle

•         Responsible for the hiring process for all positions in the Self Pay Revenue cycle

•         Completes performance evaluations timely and is involved in employee counseling, coaching and termination per policy

•         Provides orientation for new employees and ensures compliance with department policy and procedure

•         Maintains high levels of employee engagement and job performance by providing recognition and opportunities for learning

•         Ability to appropriately handle stress and interact with others

•         Monitors staff time and attendance daily and requests for PDO

•         Evaluate employees’ skills on a routine basis and provide both positive feedback and corrective actions

•         Trains, motivates and develops employees

•         Trains new staff according to Basic Training Schedules, on policies & procedures, system access, navigation, billing/follow-up and completion of patient accounts, basic revenue cycle, in order to submit clean claims and increased collections. Maintains all assigned resource materials, including Resource Manual and classroom workbooks. Maintains education documentation provided to staff for historical compliance purposes

•         Manages and tracks Billing Software Help Desk submissions to identify issues/trends

•         Frequently collaborates with Patient Access Directors, Managers and Auditors/Trainers to develop resolution to identified patterns of errors

•         Manages follow up training sessions for PFS Managers to ensure consistency in Recruiting/Hiring, interviewing techniques, Employee concerns, Coaching, Counseling, Leadership styles and Employee development

•         Trains usage of all online tools necessary for the successful completion of each work function.

•         Collaborates with PFS leadership to know what continuing education is needed, based on staff performance

•         Coordinates special training projects/extracurricular training activities as requested by PFS leadership, including creating presentations distributed to all staff

•         Develops and coordinates Continuing Education presentations and training material in order to train all PFS staff as requested by leadership

•         Provides educational presentations to Web Coordinator for upload into Net Learning

•         Possesses knowledge of all aspects of Managed Care and Government insurance requirement

•         Understanding of all aspects of PFS department procedures

•         Maintains statistical data for leadership to identify trends

•         Remain compliant with state and federal regulations as they relate to Patient Financial Services

•         Possess knowledge of PFS daily operations including posting, reimbursement, charity and vendors

•         Other duties as assigned

•         Adheres to HIPAA regulations by verifying pertinent information to determine caller authorization level receiving information on account

•         Remains current with all assigned reading, CBL’s, and department education plans

•         Participate in department activities to foster team environment and collaboration

What You Will Need:

•         AA degree or equivalent work experience

•         Minimum (4) years Management or Revenue Cycle related experience

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, responsible for Patient Financial Services (PFS) Department Billing Software and Accounts Receivable Software Training, Self Pay workflow and Continuing Education for Regional CBO department. Maintains new staff competency exams, reviews and maintains training class survey, reporting outcomes on monthly dashboard report for Leadership. Trains and coaches Managers, Supervisors and Department Leads involved in employee development efforts. Manage PFS Leadership training timetable to ensure Department Leads are on schedule for backfill of Supervisor/Manager positions. Maintains resource material whenever changes occur. Attends various educator and management meetings. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Adheres to Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Additionally, responsible for coordination and management of all activities performed by Self Pay Follow up and Self Pay Vendor Liaison staff.
