 You will be responsible for:

•       Flexible work assignments including patient transportation and transportation dispatching as scheduled by the Supervisor.  . 

•       Maintains workflow as dispatcher through instant message (IM); dispatches transportation team members using radio communication and follows workflow processes developed by Supervisor/Coordinator.

•       Cleans & disinfects transportation equipment, slide boards & other items used in patient care/transportation. 

•       Ensuring safe, complete and accurate transportation to/from the imaging areas as requested, identifies the patient’s ability to travel by means assigned & adjusts accordingly to improve patient safety.

•       Accurately confirms identify of the patient using name & date of birth for every encounter.

•       Transports patients via wheelchair, bed or stretcher while maintaining patient comfort, dignity and privacy.

•       Effectively communicates to department delays in patient transportation & identifies multi-modality orders for minimal transports.

•       Flexible with schedule and assignments to support the needs of the department/modality.   

•       Reports damage or malfunction of equipment to the supervisor & places notification on the device to indicate it is “out of service”.

 What you will need:

•       High School Graduate or equivalent

•       BLS certification from American Heart Association required

•       Ability to accurately type 35 wpm
