GENERAL SUMMARY:

Performs all duties related to the Patient Resource Team and call center including answering phones and scheduling appointments. Registers new patients, facilitate communication needs of patient/family, office/clinic staff and the medical staff.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Professionally and politely answer incoming calls to the PRH call center.


• Appropriately perform all tasks related to the registration of the patients into the practice management system to include but not limited to collecting and verifying patient demographics, including email address, mobile phone, insurance information, and insurance eligibility etc.


• Schedule new and return patient appointments.


• Facilitate patient communication through patient cases; direct calls to the appropriate office staff members.


• Assist new patients with selection of new primary care provider; complete registration process, communicate policies and first visit expectations; explain what to bring and give directions to office.


• Assist patients with Patient Portal registration, explain new patient paperwork and trouble-shoot portal questions.


• Highly skilled in customer service and problem resolution.


• Possess in-depth knowledge of all PRH service lines, providers, departments, services and events to courteously answer callers’ questions.


• Promptly respond to website inquiries.


• Ensure all tasks and job duties are performed to an acceptable standard defined by organizational, practice, or credentialing organization’s rules, regulations, policies, or requirements.


• Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function well in stressful situations.


• Represents Park Ridge Health in all customer service and Patient Resource Team related activities.

Qualifications
 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:


• Excellent customer service skills with positive, outgoing & friendly manner.


• Demonstrates high level of patience, empathy and compassion required.


• Must be perceptive, with good observation and problem-solving skills.


• Good verbal communication skills and strong work ethic required.


• Manages time effectively with good judgment and works independently required.


• Knowledge of call center software, hardware, Microsoft Office, and other equipment required.


• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:


• Additional languages preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:


• High school graduate or equivalent required.
