You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Educates and trains staff on policies & procedures, system access and navigation, creation and completion of patient accounts and provides an understanding of basic revenue cycle responsibilities. Maintains all resource materials and education documentation provided to staff.
  • Provides supervision of participants during training classes to facilitate efficient education.
  • Provides education on the proper use of several available Online Eligibility products to facilitate appropriate reimbursement, ensuring team members have had the opportunity to log into online tools prior to the end of training sessions.
  • Documents participant competency outcomes via ‘final exam’ and communicates results to Manager and/or Director. Communicates potential barriers to success with leadership prior to the end of training sessions.
  • Attends Non-Clinical Educator and PA/PFS Management meetings to ensure departmental compliance with all hospital directives and initiatives that impact Patient Access. Coordinates special training projects/extra-curricular training activities as requested by Leadership, including creating presentations distributed to all staff.
  • Collaborates with other areas impacted by front-end changes and helps develop strategies to maintain consistency and compliance.
  • Develops and coordinates Continuing Education presentations and training materials in order to provide additional training to all PA staff and Non-PA staff as requested by leadership
What You Will Need:


  • Basic knowledge of the following:
  • EHR Programs (Cerner)
  • Revenue Cycle process in a healthcare setting
  • Medical terminology
  • Hospital and professional billing processes
  • Superb customer service, teamwork and conflict resolution skills
  • Efficient time management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent writing, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational, planning, coordinating and collaborating skills
  • Strong understanding and comfort level with computer systems
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to quickly learn other applications such as ALN, RQA, Price Estimator and Facility Compliance Checker


  • Associates degree in related field
  • Minimum (2) years experience in Revenue Cycle Department or related area
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration or related field preferred
  • Prior experience developing, instituting, and leading training programs preferred
  • Train-the Trainer certification preferred
Job Summary:

Under general supervision, responsible for Patient Access Department Basic Training, and Continuing Education for this department as well as other departments as requested. Maintains new staff competency exams, reviews and maintains training class survey, reporting outcomes on monthly dashboard report for Leadership. Maintains and updates resource material whenever changes occur.
