Work Hours/Shifts

25 hours/week evenings

 
What you will responsible for:
 

Acts as a receptionist of the Outpatient Surgical Services Department by greeting and directing patients, visitors and physicians. Provides direction and coordinates efforts to move patients through Registration, Preop Testing and Anesthesia consults. Is responsible for collection of order and testing results. Provides a positive and professional first impression to the patients, visitors, physicians and staff. Communicates and provides accurate information when appropriate to pediatric, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Maintains an aura of congeniality and hospitality.

  • Greets patients in a friendly, professional and courteous manner.
  • Screens and refers all incoming telephone calls and department visitors to ensure that accurate and timely departmental communications is facilitated and that the department is presented in a positive manner.
  • Communicates with nurses regarding any variance to promote and ensure timely flow of surgery schedule.
  • Maintains charts for appropriate chart assembly.
  • Assists daily in maintaining an orderly, clean and quite work area.

Qualifications
What you will need:
  • Must have High School Diploma
  • One (1) year secretary experience preferably in a hospital setting
  • BCLS
