What you will be responsible for:
  • Monitors all cardiac oscilloscopes on assigned unit.
  • Recognizes rhythms/arrhythmia’s and takes appropriate action.
  • Documents rhythm stripes per unit policy
  • Completes annual basic arrhythmia interpretation and utilization of monitoring equipment.
  • Assembles and maintains the medical record.
  • Completely assembles a medical record for each patient admitted.
  • Acts as a communication liaison for the patient, family and interdisciplinary health care team.
  • Protects the rights of all patients; maintains confidentiality of all patient-related information.
  • Answers telephones.
  • Answers telephone and intercom system in a professional manner.
  • Relays telephone and verbal messages accurately and promptly.
  • Assures accurate location of patients within the computer system.
  • Removes patients from the computer promptly upon discharge.
  • Updates admission and discharge log daily.
  • Assists in controlling cost.
  • Orders necessary supplies in a cost-effective manner.
  • Provides for a safe and supportive environment for all patients, families and interdisciplinary Health care team members.
  • Follows all infection control policies and procedures
  • Initiates appropriate work orders as directed.
What you will need:
  • High school graduate or equivalent who has completed basic arrhythmia identification testing. 
  • Must be familiar with medical terminology and arrhythmia identification.
  • Must be able to multi-task and coordinate multiple functions.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Good communication skills required.
