Protects the financial standing of all of Florida Hospital West Florida Division by managing all functions of the cashier, mail receipts, refunds, document support and bank reconciliation as well as provides accurate statistical reports to capture financial transactions. Performs administrative duties in absence of the Assistant Director and/or Director. Manages process to ensure all correspondence, interoffice or external, is routed appropriately and efficiently.  Directs cash management operations to include daily cash administration, management of current accounts and bank relations. Reviews and drives improvements in cash management, credit balances, ensuring financial obligations are met in accordance with our policies and procedures. Oversees, manages, analyzes and completes all cash management set-up documentation for new and existing department processes; prepares correspondence and proposals directed to and for cash management. Timely reconciles cash application and disbursements. Monitors cash transactions to ensure that bank account balances to the report and any unusual items are investigated. Forecasts, monitors, and closely tracks cash flow (weekly, monthly, quarterly etc.). Prepares cash flow reports and identifies and evaluates variances. Receives incoming wire transfers and ensures that they are posted accurately and timely.  Actively participates in outstanding customer service refunds and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Adheres to the Florida Hospital West Florida Region Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.

What you will need:
  • Able to work with advanced accounting procedures.
  • Able to prioritize and multitask based on volume of work within hard deadlines.
  • Must type 40 words per minute.
  • Must have a working knowledge of personal computer applications and proficient in word, excel and power point applications.
  • Proficiency in performance of basic math functions.
  • Ability to work with all departments and all levels of management.
  • Is responsive to ever-changing matrix of hospital needs and acts accordingly.
  • Communicates professionally and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Five (5) years experience in Patient Access/Patient Financial Services Department or related area (finance, collections, customer service, physician, or other health care provider related organization).
  • Three (3) years two years team leader, supervisory or management experience. 
  • Three (3) years of cash management experience and familiarity with bank statements, cash management systems, etc.
  • Four (4) year college degree (business, healthcare or health services administration, accounting, finance public administration, human resources, management, or marketing).
  • Graduate degree (business, healthcare or health services administration, health information management, communications, finance, accounting, public administration, human resources, management, or marketing) (preferred)
