Manager – CV System of Care – Cardiovascular Services – Orlando

AdventHealth Orlando seeks to hire a Manager – CV System of Care who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,107-bed Orlando Health Orlando, serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America. Orlando Health Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country. We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year.

Job Summary:

The Manager for Cardiovascular (CV) System of Care reports to the Director of Ambulatory CV Services. The Manager is responsible for directing the provision of quality Cardiovascular virtual and ambulatory services delivered by an interdisciplinary team in a comprehensive, collaborative manner with an emphasis on health promotion, avoidance of readmission, chronic disease management and education. As well, that no patient is ever truly discharged. The Manager develops and is accountable for the activities of the various program and its staff; represents and promotes the Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) by participating in various community activities; and is a key leader in the overall management of the virtual and ambulatory services of patients.

Provides administrative support in the areas of human resources, finances and general accountability to the Director.

The Manger will have a large geographical area of responsibility that includes both physical and virtual that will evolve from Central Florida upwards to a large regional scope. Areas of Responsibility:

Virtual Care Center
Enterprise-wide [virtual] remote care management
Enterprise-wide [virtual] chronic care management
Enterprise-wide [virtual] transitional care management
Enterprise-wide telehealth platforms
Enterprise-wide [virtual] scheduling and appointment functions
Management of mobile cardiac telemetry for a CV system of care
Care navigation oversight of various programs
Projects assigned by CVI Executive Team and future ambulatory platforms

Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required:

  • Skilled in providing appropriate patient information that matches the needs of the patient
  • Ability to interact appropriately with department/teams to facilitate process development, quality improvement, and interaction with patients/families through many mediums of communication
  • Skilled in issue resolution with staff and consumers
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer-relations skills
  • Skilled and comfortable in discussing a wide range of disease diagnosis and treatment options with patient, family, and physicians/providers
  • Program development (Preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Power Point, Word) (Preferred)
  • Telehealth and virtual platforms (Preferred)
  • Knowledgeable in billing and coding procedures (Preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Master’s degree in Nursing or Advanced Practitioner Licensing (Preferred)
  • Three years’ progressive Cardiovascular Program leadership
  • One year of experience in clinical leadership roles or leading teams of multiple professionals
  • Customer service experience

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:

  • Current Florida or Multi-State license to practice professional nursing
  • Advance Practice Practitioner (Preferred)

  • Communicates effectively with all clients, families, peers, colleagues and other health care professionals, service agencies and community partners.
  • Responsible for operational budget and maintaining adherence to the budget day to day for the Virtual Care Center
  • Assist in Capital needs forecasting with the Executive Director and Director of Ambulatory CV identifying strategic needs over 3-5 years.
  • Develop clinic strategies that are in accordance with the overall CVI strategy and AHS strategic plan.
  • Develop day to day and DRG specific performance plans that identify opportunities for improvement and execute them.
  • Represent CV Institute and AdventHealth to the local communities that the clinics are in as well as any CV Institute specific community event.
  • Coordinates and supports clinic team meetings.
  • Attends and leads regularly scheduled team and staff meetings.
  • Responsible for recruitment, hiring, training, development and dismissal of clinical staff.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining a unified, high performing interdisciplinary team.
  • Responsible for supervision as well as conducting of regular performance appraisal of an interdisciplinary team of health professionals.
  • Develops and implements strategies to promote interdisciplinary team building.
  • Counsels and assists staff with clinical program and client issues.
  • Advises staff and seeks input regarding Clinics policies and procedures and clinical directives.
  • Responsible for scheduling staff, approving and monitoring staff training, absences and ensuring adequate program coverage.
  • Communicates effectively with health care team members to create a cohesive team
