You will be responsible for:
  • Repairs mechanical equipment and systems assigned to the Maintenance Department.
  • Diagnoses problems in all equipment associated with the facility.
  • Makes repairs to door hardware.
  • Makes minor plumbing repairs including clearing clogged drains and toilets. 
  • Disassembles and replaces parts in medical gas outlets as required.
  • Makes minor electrical repairs.
  • Makes minor repairs to gasoline and diesel driven vehicles and/or equipment as required.
  • Maintains the facility’s interior and exterior by replacing ceiling tiles, base boards and installing or removing art work, bulletin boards, plaques, etc.
  • Inventories parts, stocks material and initiates Purchase Requisitions for replacement of materials.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of those areas assigned.  Must be familiar with proper use of commonly used cleaning equipment/products.

  • Replaces Room A/C units, fans, Hepa Air Purifiers, radiator heaters.
  • Changes out T.V.s, responders, nurse calls, TV remotes, bed controls.
  • Repairs beds, stretchers, wheelchairs and understands functions, ex: Trendelenburg.
  • Completes maintenance request tickets and turns in same daily.
  • Completes preventive maintenance procedures and turns in monthly or within time frame ascribed.
  • Enters completed maintenance requests and PMs in the preventive maintenance computer software program.
  • Utilizes and/or learns basic computer applications such as: e-mail, word-processing, and preventive maintenance program.
  • Performs all duties associated with standard building maintenance, and the health care associated with standard building maintenance, and the health care environment, and other duties as assigned, and assists tradesman in completing tasks as required.
  • Continuously repairs contingencies identified in the Door Inspection (Quality Assurance) reports.
  • Assists the Maintenance Engineering Tech in making repairs to doors in their assigned areas.
  • Maintains an inventory of all door hardware and components.
  • Ensures that all doors are within code compliance.
Qualifications
What will you need?
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Four years’ maintenance experience in an institution or large building.
