Florida Hospital Ocala opened its doors in 1898 as Marion General Hospital and has been in continuous operation since then. Then in 1928, the hospital was renamed to Munroe Memorial Hospital. Adventist Health System acquired Munroe Regional Medical and renamed it Florida Hospital Ocala in 2018. Florida Hospital - Ocala is situated in the heart of the city, minutes away from a vibrant, growing downtown area.  Ocala is situated in the heart of Marion County, Florida and is surrounded by the beautiful rolling pastures that have come to be known as the horse capital of the world.  The city boasts a genuine appreciation for the arts, a growing economy that’s attracting national businesses and a school system that includes nine schools with magnet designations. Florida Hospital Ocala is a 425-bed acute-care and offers a variety of services including, 24/7 Emergency Care, Diagnostic Testing, Inpatient and Outpatient Surgery, Women’s Services, and Inpatient and Outpatient Therapy. We were named Marion County’s most preferred hospital for overall quality and image and best doctors and nurses for 13 consecutive years (National Research Corporation, 2015/2016). Nationally we were voted for “America’s Best 50 Hospitals Award” nine years in a row.

You will be responsible for:

  • Performs repairs to building in a competent, neat, and workmanlike manner.
  • Demonstrates the ability to identify the proper tools to use and inquires as to any questionable needs to the appropriate person.
  • Ensures work area is clean and free of debris when repair is complete.
  • Ensures materials are available and on-hand prior to starting repair.
  • Accurately completes and turns in work orders and P.M.'s on a daily basis.
  • Performs all Life Safety PMs and Work Orders within one month of assignment 95%.
  • Other work orders and PMs are completed 95 - 98% of the month they were assigned.
  • Demonstrates knowledge when utilizing and completing the computer based work order software.
  • Work orders are complete, accurate and turned in by the 3rd business day of the following month.
  • Visit each assigned area, daily, to solicit customer needs and feedback.
  • Daily walks assigned area to observe and correct needed repair.
  • Identified repair needs are processed in a prompt manner.
  • Uses proper safety procedures (i.e. lockout/tag out) 100% of the time.
  • Consistently uses PPE's when policy dictates.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and uses Lock-Out Tag-Out procedure.
  • Operates company vehicle, as needed.

What you will need:

  • Ability to read and write at a high school level
  • Ability to follow simple written and oral directions.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience as a building maintenance/repair technician or the equivalent trade school certification. 
  • Valid Class E Florida Driver's License
