Our multi-facility campus includes 148 acute-care beds at Metroplex Adventist Hospital in Killeen, 60 psychiatric care beds in the nearby Metroplex Behavioral Health Center, and 25 beds at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas. Through this Metroplex Health System, we offer a Women’s Center, Sleep Disorder Center, Endoscopy Center, Pediatric Rehabilitation Center, ICU, PCU, ED, imaging, surgery, home health services, and more.
What will you be doing?
  • Responsible for all matters relating to the proper preventive maintenance, repairs, calibration, safety inspection and installation of new medical equipment that is included in the biomedical equipment inventory for all of Metroplex Health system.
  • Responsible for all emergencies calls during and after normal working hours and assigned on-call personnel weekly. 
  • Responsible for maintaining maintenance records for all medical equipment between Metroplex and Rollins Brooks hospital using company soft software and Harvest software.
  • Responsible for maintenance repair costs, formulating yearly budget to include Test Instruments and Seminar expenses.
  • Responsible for reviewing and approval of two employee’s time sheets. 
  • Responsible for and manages vendor service contract agreement for the medical equipment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Report to the Director of Facility Management.
  • Responsible for Directing, supervising, monitoring and implementing the I-Synergy People Soft maintenance program for all biomedical equipment listed in the inventory and maintain performance improvement activities within the department.
  • Familiar with the previous Harvest - Clinical Engineering Management System (CEMS).
  • Responsible for the job knowledge, ability to understand, interpret and implement the hospital policies and Facility Management Policy.
  • Supervises two Bio-Medical Technician in performing repairs, preventive maintenance, installation and safety inspection of new medical equipment, including all contract service engineers must sign in at Vendor Mate System and verified by Bio-Medical personnel prior to performing preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Responsible for assuring the competency of all the Bio-Medical personnel.
  • Maintains efficient and effective biomedical maintenance operations and comply with JCAHO, state, federal and local regulations.
  • Understands and complies with the Environment of Care/Infection Control Responsibilities.
  • Maintains all biomedical maintenance records of Metroplex Hospital to include Rollins Brooks  Hospital in Lampasas.
  • Reports status of projects/daily operations and other duties as needed or assigned from the Director of Facility Management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Takes primary responsibility for directing the day to day activities for two Bio-Medical Technician, work operations, vendor service contract repair and calibration or 3rd party vendor.
  • Responsible for scheduling all work related to preventive maintenance, work order request from departments requiring service, installation of new medical equipment, disposition of old medical equipment, regulatory compliance, and other activities related to Bio-Medical personnel.
  • Takes primary responsibility for maintaining performance improvement activities within the departments.
Qualifications
What will you need?
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in the English Language.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, E-mail, Word, Excel and I-Synergy People Soft Harvest, Programs.
  • Ability to use I-Synergy People Soft Software to maintain all Bio-medical equipment for preventive maintenance, repairs, ordering parts and warranty.
  • Associate’s Degree (AA) in Bio-Medical Electronics with five or more years of experience preferred.
  • Associate’s Degree (AA) in Electronic Engineering with five or more years of experience preferred, or two year college, or two year technical school, or five years related experienced and training.
  • Military Bio-Medical School with five years of experience preferred.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License REQUIRED
  • AAMI – Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation preferred
    International Certification Commission for Bio-Medical Technician preferred
