Inventory Control Par Technician – Materials Management – Celebration

AdventHealth Celebration seeks to hire an Inventory Control Par Technician who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Department Profile:

Supply Chain at AdventHealth Celebration Health supports and sustains the medical supply, mail services, and equipment needs for our campus. Our primary customers are patients, clinicians, and team members. We align our strategic development to the evolving healthcare industry in providing innovative solutions for procurement and logistics. Our department is an interdisciplinary team of clinical and non-clinical specialists in the areas of patient care and support services.



Work Hours/Shifts:

M-F; 6:30a - 3:00p



Job Summary:

The Inventory Control Par Technician is responsible for assisting and supporting departments with their par cart supply and materials functions. Responsibilities include inventory reconciliation, generating requisitions for special orders, and ordering select stock items. Tracks and receives special and stock items along with restocking designated inventory areas; research status of open orders as necessary. Tags and registers high-spend items into point of use (POU) or RFID system(s) as applicable. Manages inventory by adjusting par levels when necessary and manage accuracy of bin locations and cost center expense codes. May work with clinical systems to charge patients, synchronize data, and/or perform inventory management functions. The Inventory Control Par Technician generates and reviews reports and data related to supplies and expense charges to ensure accuracy and completeness. The position contributes to the development and execution of action plans for supply cost savings and management. Effectively and expeditiously communicates changes in inventory or incidences of unavailable inventory to the supply chain and/or clinical teams. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.



Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required:

  • Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements
  • Skilled in applying inventory and materials handling concepts and knowledge of mathematical problems
  • Ability to work with each department’s leaders to facilitate the flow of supplies to achieve maximum efficiency
  • Ability to respond to people’s needs in a pleasant and courteous manner as perceived by the customer and supervisor
  • Works effectively with people of various backgrounds. Ability to be flexible and adapt to change. Ability to work well under stress and meet deadlines
  • Ability to actively participate in outstanding, world class customer service with cheerful, positive communication and enthusiastic helpfulness
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to learn and apply computer related applications and programs, including using electric keyboards and other peripheral devices
  • Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and work with job tools such as bar-code scanners, materials management systems, printers, and RFID readers (Preferred)
  • Ability to manage stress and handle challenging situations in a highly technical, fast paced, high volume procedural areas (Preferred)
  • Experience with a materials management acquisition/procurement system (Preferred)
  • Experience with one or more inventory management systems (Preferred)
  • High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages time and equipment effectively, performs and assigns activities related to maintaining a clean, safe and efficient environment, compliant with DNV regulations. Inspects package integrity and rotates stock to reduce expiration of products. Adheres to routine cleaning and inspection schedules for all inventory locations. Completes daily responsibilities; according, to established procedures.
  • Responsibilities include inventory reconciliation, generating requisitions for special orders, and ordering select stock items. Tracks and receives special and stock items along with restocking designated inventory areas; researches status of open orders as necessary.
  • Tags and registers high-spend items into point of use (POU) or RFID system(s) as applicable. Manages inventory by adjusting par levels when necessary and manage accuracy of bin locations and cost center expense codes.
  • May work with clinical systems to charge patients, synchronize data, and/or perform inventory management functions
  • Generates and validates reports for the purpose of maintaining PAR levels ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Works in conjunction with Engineering, Biomed and Asset Management, as needed, to coordinate repair of broken equipment. With Biomed, monitors and tracks pumps. With Asset Management, defines useful life of currently owned equipment, reviewing service contracts and recommending repair/replace scenarios.
  • Initiates return of defective and recalled products to vendors, understanding urgent recall issues and responding appropriately and in a timely manner to all patient orders. Returns items that are overstocked to the warehouse or suppliers per procedures.
  • Performs department product catalog (DPC) maintenance regularly. Maintains accuracy of master product catalog (MPC) numbers and bin locations at the par cart level.
  • Contributes to the development and execution of action plans for supply cost savings and management.
  • Keeps supervisor and/or managers informed while communicating appropriately and professionally with clinical and medical personnel. Effectively and expeditiously researches and communicates changes in inventory and/or incidences of unavailable inventory to the clinical team.
  • Collaborates with lead and supervisor on special projects and special requests as situations dictate.
  • Responsible and accountable for participation in quality and performance improvement activities with a goal to improve patient or departmental outcomes. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department and performs additional tasks as needed within Support Services.
