Full-Time, Monday – Friday


You Will Be Responsible For:

•         Analyze source code of applications written in common programming languages (Java, .NET, PHP, NodeJS, Python, etc.) with a focus on secure coding practices and principles.

•         Work with product owners to build Application Threat Models with the intent to identify, communicate, and understand threats and mitigations.

•         Leverage commercial and opensource toolsets to perform static and dynamic analysis on internally and externally developed applications, and effectively communicate findings to development teams.

•         Perform on-going security testing and code review to improve software security.

•         Assist with engineering designs for new software solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities.

•         Work in tandem with internal and external developers to establish secure software development life cycle procedures.

•         Establish and participate in secure coding review practices amongst developers.

•         Write reports and deliver presentations that explain the findings of research and software evaluations.

•         Support the maintenance of technical documentation.

•         Assist with developing and providing training in secure coding practices.

•         Develop a familiarity with new tools and best practices and assist with the integration of these toolsets with the enterprise.

•         Stay up to date on application security vulnerabilities and mitigation techniques to provide awareness to the developers and Application Security teams.



•         Design, develop, and implement enterprise identity management products under guidance.

•         Ability to create wireframe designs and prototypes.

•         Participate in creating a consistent user experience.

•         Responsible for working with appropriate resources for maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting and future development.

•         Must have development skills to implement changes to the IDM system for integration to various endpoints.

•         Responsible for various parts of implementing projects utilizing the full system development lifecycle

•         Participate in implementation meetings, workshops, and create training materials



  • Understanding of relational data modeling, data warehousing standards and schema, communications protocols such as HTTP, TCP/IP, FTP, and Firewall.
  • Understanding with large and complex systems having multi-layered architectures and use of Software Development Lifecycle methodology.
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment, handle changing requirements, and perform under tight timelines.
  • Must be a fast learner with a commitment to personal growth in the domain of Information Security.
  • Knowledge of healthcare or clinical physician clinical practice.
  • Expertise in application risk assessment and reporting of application design limitations and/or vulnerabilities.
  • Ability to work with Business and IS stakeholders to develop enterprise-level design assurance meeting the business needs.
  • Experience or certification in Microsoft operating systems and Office suite, including MS Visio. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a positive and enthusiastic “can do” attitude.
  • Must be self-motivated, responsible, conscientious, and detail-oriented and possess a passion for excellence.
  • Quick learner who can master system design with little or no documentation.  Continuous learning of new systems, business processes & concepts.

  • Excellent project management, change management, process management, time management and organizational skills. Ability to assist in implementation of projects within approved budget and timelines.  This will include all aspects such as facilitation of user meetings, business analysis, project planning, training, and implementation. Must have proven ability to estimate level of effort, duration, and anticipate and communicate multiple priorities.
  • Can travel occasionally as needed to support project implementation and support as needed.



  • NetIQ Identity Manager UI/Workflow Customization a plus
  • Expertise in mapping job role and scope of practice to access control design and development.
  • 1-2 years Software design and architecture experience in ERP, Identity Management, Cerner EMR and/or other major enterprise system.

•         1-2 years Active Directory administration, build and/or design experience.

  • 1-2 years experience in meeting with customers and vendors to gather product requirements.
  • 1-2 years experience in application and/or network security administration.

•         Familiarity with scripting languages such as: PowerShell, Visual Basic, XSLT, Perl, Batch Files, AutoIT Scripts.

•         Knowledge of key InfoSec concepts, regulation & frameworks (i.e. ARRA/HITECH, HIPAA, PCI, Red Flag, SOX, Safe Harbor, NIST, ISO).

  • Awareness of information security systems including LDAP, Encryption Protocols, SSL, Certificates, industry recognized security concepts, regulatory agencies, and security best practice.


•         Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related area.



  • 2+ years of web application development (JavaScript, ECMAScript,, PHP, XML).
  • 2+ years of object-oriented programming experience (Java, C++ or similar).

•         1+ year experience in writing and analyzing complex PL/SQL, SQL (MSSQL, MySQL).

•         Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS, JQUERY, AJAX, etc



  • Industry-recognized security certification. (Security +, CISA, CISSP or other)



A secure and reliable security infrastructure is required in order to ensure the protection of Adventist Health System data assets, Protected Health Information and all forms of personally identifiable information. The Identity Management Workflow Programmer Analyst is a position within the IT organization that works with identity architects, IT management, IT security and system engineers at all levels of the organization. 

Key responsibilities include development of design concepts by gathering information and data to clarify design issues, create designs and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts for web sites, applications, and user guides with graphic design software using a wide range of media. Provide application support for the NetIQ Identity Manager User Application. Responsible for working with web developers to implement graphics and layouts in accordance with AHS Branding Standards.  Will work with Identity Management Team members on integration of workflow with directory management, provisioning and deprovisioning processes.

This individual is expected to be a visible internal spokesperson for identity management design and processes, security and controls.  The Identity Management Workflow Programmer Analyst work to resolve problems and keep management apprised of problem issues and resolution.  This individual will embrace the mission of Adventist Health Systems, demonstrating outstanding leadership, approachability, integrity and mentoring skills.  The analyst will be able to facilitate discussions, which may involve conflict, while maintaining composure.  The IDM Workflow Programmer Analyst should actively seek to learn industry recognized security concepts, guidelines, and regulatory requirements and where these should be applied within the organization.
