Work Hours/Shift:
Full Time Saturday - Wednesday 7:00am - 3:00pm
You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Performs proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats
  • Maintains knowledge/follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans. Facilitates planned drills and simulations
  • Provides information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.                                                 Periodically patrols buildings and grounds of industrial plants, commercial establishments, docks, for both on campus or offsite facilities
  • Completes in timely reports                                         
  • Documents and manages security records
  • Locks and secure doors after hours according to schedule
  • Responds to emergency calls for assistance to control disorderly conduct or combative patients and/or visitors
  • Follows facility protocol in baker act
  • Responds to and coordinates code activity
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • High School Education or equivalent
  • One year of armed security, law enforcement, emergency medical services (EMS), firefighting, or military experience
  • Valid commissioned security officer’s license from the Texas Department of Public Safety or a level 3 course completion  certificate.
  • Certified in the use of Conductive Energy Weapons or get certification within 90 days.
  • International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) certification or get certification within 6 months 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or get certification within 90 days
  • Associate's degree or Technical degree in a related field, or combination of High School degree and related experience preferred
Job Summary:
Provides security services to ensure a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
Investigates, documents and manages security incidents and hazards.
