Work Hours/Shift:
Full Time Day Shift
You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Identifies primary and/or secondary insurance coverage for services agency will provide and will be able to explain information to the staff, patient and family
  • Will function as an expert resource for interpreting insurance/payer information to staff.
  •  Obtain authorization on all patients receiving home care services and ensures that information obtained is scanned to the patients EMR correctly.
  •  Follows up with additional authorization requested by staff to continue further home care services when necessary
  •  Routinely works with software program in a continued effort to assure that the patients payer source has not changed.
Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • Demonstrates ability to be attentive to details

  • Must be proficient in computer skills

  • Must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills with excellent telephone technique

  • Demonstrates speed with accuracy
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • At least two (2) year of data entry and computer experience preferably in a health care setting
  • Experience with dealing with insurance policies and authorization
  • Experience in Home Care

Job Summary:

This position coordinates with the central intake department to assure that insurance authorization is obtained on all patients receiving home care services. This position is responsible for verifying patient clinical and demographic data, verifying insurance/payer information and be a resource for staff regarding the different insurance/payer source information.
