Work Hours/Shift:

What You Are Responsible For:

  • Follows quality initiatives and participates in strategic planning.
  • Maintains a knowledge of payer billing requirements (coding and rules) and applies them to ensure FHHD receives appropriate and timely reimbursement.
  • Follows industry standards and practices related to billing and accounts receivable management and implements such standards/practices to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors reporting systems to ensure accounts receivable activities are meeting quality, productivity and reimbursement goals. `
  • Implements and maintains processes and resources to rapidly/effectively bill and collect all accounts receivable.
  • Follows departmental/hospital policies and procedures.
  • Ensures accounts being referred to bad debt meet the proper criteria.
  • Monitors documentation for compliance relating to Medicare/Medicaid/governmental/JCAHO rules, regulations and standards and reports potential discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Assists CBO in monitoring AR Aging and supports activities to maintain AR at target levels.
  • Handles patients’, staff, provider and departmental inquires as necessary and keeps Data
  • Integrity Manager and Regional Practice Manager informed of significant issues.
  • Assists with training/education to ensure staff members maintain a high level of job expertise and compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What you will need:
  • Use of the following Equipment/Software: Computer, Encoder, Coding Revolution, laser printer, fax machine, copy machine, calculators, RealMed eligibility system, telephone, Microsoft Office, Cerner, NextGen, and AS400
  • Proficiency with typing and computer experience
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Two (2) years of healthcare business office experience
  • Extensive customer service background
  • Knowledge of Medicare part A/B rules and regulations
  • Medicare and Medicaid billing back ground
  • Organizational skills background
  • Minimum of an A.A. in business management (Preferred)
  • Staff management background (Preferred)
