The Registered Professional Nurse (RN) is responsible for the delivery of coordinated nursing care for a patient and/or and assigned group of patients within a patient care unit and for the day-to-day management and supervision of the related clinical activities.  The Registered Nurse is also responsible for supervising and responsibly directing the activities of various levels of assigned nursing and ancillary personnel utilizing both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment, while practicing within the State, facility and regulatory guidelines.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Makes patient assignments for staff nurses, assigns beds, communicates bed availability to director and/or house supervisor and maintains flow of patients including documentation.

•  Adjusts staffing as warranted by census and finds staff for staffing needs in coordination with the director and/ or house supervisor.

•  Serves as a preceptor, mentor and resource to all staff nurses as needed.

• Makes rounds, as work load allows, on patients in unit for satisfaction of patient and resolves or reports issues to ensure a positive patient experience.

• Attends Hospitalists’ multidisciplinary rounds as assigned by director.

Education/Skills Required:
  • Current GA RN license
  • Minimum 1 year of acute care RN experience
