Work Hours/Shift:
  • Full-Time, Monday – Friday
You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Serves as an employee relations expert in specific area of focus which may include, but is not limited to, one or more of the following: EEOC, DOL, NLRB, OSHA, position statements, demand letters, settlement agreements, restructuring, harassment, retaliation, discrimination, and discipline
  • Interacts with the Shared Services Employee Relations teams to investigate and gather information and facts pertaining to employment-related legal issues and claims
  • Interacts with the facility Human Resources leadership and business leaders as needed to investigate and gather information and facts pertaining to employment-related legal issues and claims
  • Provides Human Resources (non-attorney) guidance to facility Human Resources staff, business leaders, or Shared Services Employee Relations, when deemed appropriate, as it relates to open employment matters in the AdventHealth Legal Department or issues that may progress to an employment-related legal matter or claim
  • Works with Associate Chief Legal Officer (Labor and Employment) to draft position statements, responses to agency complaints, settlement and severance agreements, and responses to demand letters

Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in English, Journalism, Business, Human Resources, or relevant field
  • Three years of Employee Relations experience or two years of experience responding to employment related legal issues and claims
  • Understanding of Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, worker’s compensation, and employment-related legal issues
 
Job Summary:
The Employee Relations Legal Support Specialist provides support, information, and recommendations to AdventHealth’s Associate Chief Legal Officer (Labor and Employment) in the defense and resolution of labor and employment legal issues and controversies. This individual serves as the lead in investigating and gathering information for and drafting responses to demand letters and agency claims regarding wages, hours, discrimination, retaliation, breach of contract and wrongful terminations on behalf of the organization.
