Work Hours/Shift:
Monday – Friday
8:00AM – 5:00PM

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Maintains budget for the Departments assigned:
    • Emergency Management (Disaster Related),
    • Central Communications,
    • Access Control (Locksmith) Department,
    • and seeks revenue through grants.
  • Manage Emergency Management / Preparedness Program:
    • Conducts education & training for SMH personnel; Emergency Drills, Exercise of plans, table-top discussions, and meetings with Key-Leaders for Emergency Management Program mission, goals, and implementation.
    • Maintain compliance for The Joint Commission for accreditation of healthcare organizations: Chapter Emergency Management.
    • Participates in assessment and evaluation of Risk and the annual Hazard Vulnerability Assessment (HVA).
    • Maintains EM inventory (caches of equipment).
    • Management of the Emergency Management volunteers; Campus Emergency Response Team (CERT), MMRS, non-incident command members and other members as needed.
  • Manage Central Communication Department-program:
    • Manage Central Communications Department for effective point A to point B for customers seeking questions or contacts of the facilities.
    • Manage Central Communication Team members:
      • Lead & Manager Central Communications Team Leaders.
      • Lead & Manage Central Communications Specialist.
  • Manage Access Control (Locksmith) Department-program:
    • Access Control program.
    • Manage Access Control (Locksmith) Department member(s):
      • Access Control Technician (Locksmith).
  • Drive Emergency Management Committee:
    • An active “sitting member” of the committee, and lead for committee workplan.
    • Responsible for Agenda / Minutes and projects developed from the committee.
    • Contributes to the EM committee with ideas and suggestions.
    • Assists EM Chairman in completion of Federal & State workplan deliverables.
    • Ensures compliance with the National Incident Management System for hospital personnel.
  • Management of the Campus Medical Response program, for facilities with an Emergency Department.
  • Maintains and develops improvements to the Emergency Management Program Plan and an all-inclusive Emergency Management Plan.
    • Train staff on EM plans and procedures.
  • Manages HAM Radio Volunteers
  • Managers Communications Department, and Communications personnel.
  • Manages associates as assigned during disasters and drills
  • Coordinates projects involving all levels of the organization


Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2 to 5 Years of Position-Related Experience
  • FEMA ICS – 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 & 800
  • FEMA Professional Development Series
  • HazMat for Healthcare – First Responder
  • IAHSS Basic (CHSO)
  • BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association
 
 
Job Summary:

The Emergency Management (EM) Program Manager will collaborate with the Administration, and Key Leaders (Clinical, Support, and Ancillary Services) in defining Shawnee Mission Health’s Emergency Management Program(s) mission, vision, and goals. The EM Program Manager will function as Liaison Officer for Emergency Management in accordance with the Emergency Management / Preparedness Program policy, and the Hospital Incident Command System; designated by the Incident Commander. The EM Program Manager manages the Emergency Management Program through, for disaster readiness; by developing an Emergency Management Program Plan and maintaining of an all-inclusive Emergency Management Plan which encompasses: Mitigation, Preparedness, Response and Recovery efforts for Shawnee Mission Health’s staff, patients, visitors, others, and property assets. The EM Program Manager provides overall support to the hospital’s readiness by developing policy & procedure, coordinating training and exercises, and writing After Actions Reports (AAR) of emergency-events. The EM Program Manager will represent Shawnee Mission Health (Hospital(s), ASC(s), Clinic(s), and other Healthcare) for healthcare emergency preparedness through National, Regional, State, and local Healthcare meetings, workgroups, and committees.

EM Program Manager will provide supervision to the Central Communications (PBX) Department, Access Control Technician (Locksmith), and the SMH-Emergency Management Radio Volunteers. The EM Program Manager will have direct reports from the Central Communication Team Leads, Locksmith, and Volunteers. This individual must be very detail-oriented, able to work independently and do so in an efficient manner.
