Work Hours/Shift:
Full Time/Day
Pay is $18-22/hour (depending on experience)
You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Installs, maintains, alters and repairs wiring, power appliances, light machinery, and electrical circuits.
  • Installs, maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Locates and corrects power failures and short circuits.
  • Performs electrical work on photo-electric cells, time clocks, electrical heaters, air conditioners, motor generator sets and air compressors.
  • Adjusts and cleans limits switches and waving devices.
  • Makes emergency repairs to generators and other electrical apparatus, appliances and equipment.
  • Inventories test equipment and components.
  • Orders spare parts and consumable stock.
  • Repairs mechanical equipment and systems assigned to the Maintenance Department.
  • Diagnoses problems in all equipment associated with the facility.
  • Makes repairs to door hardware.
  • Makes minor plumbing repairs including clearing clogged drains and toilets. 
  • Disassembles and replaces parts in medical gas outlets as required.
  • Maintains the facility’s interior and exterior by replacing ceiling tiles, base boards and installing or removing art work, bulletin boards, plaques, etc.
  • Inventories parts, stocks material and initiates Purchase Requisitions for replacement of materials.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of those areas assigned.  Must be familiar with proper use of commonly used cleaning equipment/products.
  • Inventories parts, stocks material and initiates Purchase Requisitions for replacement of materials.
  • Replaces Room A/C units, fans, Hepa Air Purifiers and radiator heaters.
  • Changes out T.V.s.
  • Completes maintenance service requests and turns in same daily.
  • Completes preventive maintenance procedures and turns in monthly or within timeframe ascribed.
  • Enters completed maintenance requests and PMs in the preventive maintenance computer software program.
  • Utilizes and/or learns basic computer applications such as: e-mail, word-processing and preventive maintenance program.
  • Performs all duties associated with standard building maintenance, the health care
  • associated with standard building maintenance and the health care environment, other duties as assigned, and assists tradesman in completing tasks as required.
  • Maintains work space in acceptable state of cleanliness.
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
 
  • Complete understanding of National Electrical Code
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Eight years’ experience in electrical work
  • Four years’ maintenance experience in an institution or large building
Job Summary:
Responsible for installation, maintenance and repairs to electrical systems and equipment and performs all duties associated with standard building maintenance.
