Early Learning Education Administrator - Early Learning Center - Orlando

AdventHealth Orlando seeks to hire a Early Learning Education Administrator who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.



Facility Profile:

Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando, serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America. AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country. We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year.

Job Summary:

This role ensures a comprehensive and integrated approach to Early Learning and the concepts of CREATION are fully engrained in day to day operations of the West Lakes Early Learning Center. The Manager has responsibility to initially train all teachers and continually support the development of their skills, abilities, and understanding of the curriculum and its implementation in the classrooms. The Education manager is responsible for the provision of high quality educational services through monitoring classroom observations, staff supervision, and coaching. The Education Manager works in conjunction with the Executive Director to implement operational systems that support timely and accurate documentation of education plans, goals, and outcomes. The Education Services Manager collaborates with the Comprehensive Services Director to provide services to children and families that supplement educational programming, disability, and mental health services. The Education Manager ensures that the program operates at continuously increasing levels of quality and embodies the mission and vision of the West Lakes ELC. This is an administrative role outside the classroom with oversight of the curriculum implementation with fidelity. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The Bainum Foundation, AdventHealth and AdventHealth Foundation, are joined in mutual interest to improve early learning services available in low income communities in Orlando and have identified LIFT Orlando as a partner to implement a place-based strategy that supports its vision for holistic, community transformation. Primrose Schools and Purpose Built Communities are other partners working to ensure the highest quality education in a place based approach are taken in this community. The early learning center and outdoor play space is projected to be an integral part of the Community School campus being developed in the heart of LIFT Orlando’s focus area in the Communities of West Lakes. Concurrent development of a Health and Wellness Center and a Boys and Girls Club will be occurring in this community. These entities whilst separate and distinct, will operate with close relationships and optimize their synergies. The West Lakes Early Learning Center will provide wrap around health, wellness and social services for young children, birth – age 5, and their families. This is an innovative and transformational early childhood education program which leverages the CREATION Health Framework. The Center is a 16 300 sqft, 152 seat, comprehensive, innovative and transformational early learning program based on the CREATION Health framework and designed to serve a mixed income community in the 32805 zip code of Orlando, Florida. The ELC is a 501c3 and operates with a Board to which the Program Director is directly accountable.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Two years of management and supervision experience.
  • Experience in human services program management, including program planning, operations and evaluation, and the use of management information systems
  • Two years teaching experience in a licensed early childhood program
  • Experience in computer software programs; word, excel, power point, access, business/financial management.



Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:

  • Must meet state licensing and AdventHealth training requirements (Preferred)



Job Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises and evaluates the Infant/Toddler Teachers and Assistant Teachers, PreK Teachers and Assistant Teachers at West Lakes ELC
  • Maintains program compliance with education requirements and standards, as well as, all laws and regulations applicable to the educational programming, disabilities, and mental health services of comprehensive early childhood programs.
  • Develops systems and tools to document education planning, observations, and assessment data.
  • Develops and monitors Policies and Procedures for Education and disabilities
  • Provides guidance and leadership to staff to emphasize the importance of the program achieving high standards of quality.
  • Reads and reviews legislation and other resources to keep abreast of current issues and trends related to the responsibilities of the job.
  • Understands and has strong working knowledge of the West Lakes ELC curriculum
  • Coordinates with other members of the Leadership Team to implement the training plan for new teaching staff according to classroom-specific Continual Learning Guides
  • Conducts classroom observations to regularly support and ensure curriculum implementation and delivery
  • Ensures strict child and family confidentiality, following AdventHealth’s confidentiality policy
  • Secures appropriate resources for education management staff, parents and children which includes but not limited to supplies, equipment, and training materials.
  • Negotiates and secures Interagency Agreements with local Lead Education Agency.
  • Contributes to the development of program proposals, annual Self-Assessment, and Community Assessment, as requested.
  • Oversees that all policies and procedures are being followed.
  • Aggregates and analyzes reports related to the provision of educational, disability, and mental health activities. This includes monitoring enrollment, timeliness of screenings, assessments and ensuring successful referrals.
  • Enters program performance data in data repositories and aggregates developmental and behavioral screening data and reports it to the Executive Director.
  • Participates in continuing professional development as part of the commitment to excellence.
  • Initiates, coordinate, and develop community partnerships for educational programming, and disability services.
  • Supports Teachers in monitoring parent/teacher conferences as necessary and compiles summary data and reports it to the Programs Director.
  • Develops and monitors systems for Kindergarten transition activities and ensures that all Kindergarten eligible children are registered
  • Monitors the services of children with disabilities and those in the diagnostic process to the next phase, ensuring a smooth and efficient process, with full parental participation.
  • Attend school events, functions, open houses, etc.
  • Ensures regular communications and updates to parents and the community using multiple techniques: face to face, multi-media and social media.
  • Networks with local schools and businesses.
  • Manages and evaluates the Infant/Toddler Teacher and Assistant Teacher, PreK Teacher and Assistant Teacher through observation, meetings, and file reviews as appropriate and completes performance appraisals as appropriate. Evaluates direct reports against clear performance expectations through observation, meetings, and file reviews as appropriate and completes performance appraisals.
  • Establishes and communicates clear performance expectations and measures for all direct reports and ensures that all supervisors do the same for the staff they supervise.
  • Provides coaching and develops a professional development plan for educational programming, disabilities.
  • Hires, trains, mentors, and holds accountable direct reports.
  • Collaborates with other members of the Leadership Team to provide ongoing feedback for teaching staff, using a variety of tools such as Classroom Observation Forms and Teacher Evaluations.
  • Works with teachers to identify strengths and areas of opportunity to design plans for continual improvement.
  • Ensures teacher training requirements are up-to-date.
  • Creates a culture of engagement by empowering teachers to find solutions for themselves.
