Job Description

More than 500 board-certified physicians, 200 plus Advanced Practice Providers, and 1,500 clinical and support staff in over 40 specialties provide patients with a broad range of medical and surgical services. Director RSF System Operations 
JOB SUMMARY
The Director RSF System Operations is responsible for all aspects of RSF physician practice operations as well as assisting the VP in development of physician practice strategies that meet the health care needs of the communities we serve.  This leader is responsible for demonstrating consistent results in employee engagement, patient experience, physician satisfaction, market growth, and finance for each of their practices. This leader is expected to facilitate a positive clinical environment for physicians so they can provide high levels of performance in patient access, patient experience, and patient quality at an optimum level of cost.  A key component of this position is the participation in the strategic plan around physician services within a service line or Florida Hospital campus. 
 
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Leads the development of a physician strategic plan for the appropriate service line or FH campus, engaging with business development, physician recruitment, service line or campus leadership and key physicians.
  2. Engages the physicians in leading towards high performance in clinical quality, patient experience and access. Collaborate with Physician Leaders to develop and implement strategic growth plans.  Actively involved in engaging physicians through the FHMG Operational Governance model, through implementation directed by the Network Operation Council (NOC).  Assists in the creation and implementation of Action Plans developed in collaboration with Providers in their Practice Operations Council.
  3. Engages the leadership team in monitoring and executing comprehensive results for each practice.
  4. Implements and monitors compliance of organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  5. Leads the planning of future organizational needs for a specified geographical region which includes the acquisition of private practices and proactively identifies the need for new practices based upon medical specialty, geographical presence and demographic forecasts.
  6. Works with Directors to analyze monthly financial statements and statistical reports and develops a corrective action plan where there are variances in performance (employee engagement, patient experience, market growth, quality, finance, physician satisfaction).
  7. Supports the development of direct reports by:
  8. Proactively mentors Directors and Associate Directors and other ancillary management employees as applicable.
  9. Facilitates educational opportunities in order to support management team and guides the development of new leaders within the organization.  Encourages professional growth and fosters the ability for direct reports to improve skill set and promotes retention.
  10. Maintains a positive approach to resolving issues and implementing solutions.
  11. Ensures timely and effective communication with physicians, leaders and staff.
  12. Proactively ensures the timeliness of physician contracting, engaging the physicians and leadership team to ensure a compensation arrangement that is within the AHS guidelines and is completed prior to contract expiration.
 
 
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills including verbal and written communication and active listening, especially with physicians
  • Ability to manage a complex environment with multiple constituents
  • Strong decision making skills based on management by fact, analytics
  • Demonstrated and proven knowledge of finance, cost control, productivity enhancement, revenue cycle within a practice environment
  • Ability to negotiate physician compensation agreements with little support
  • Strong organizational skills demonstrating initiative and prioritization of multiple assignments
  • Ability to accurately interpret and communicate corporate policies, regulations (state and federal) and work with MGMA benchmarks  
  • Ability to lead and engage a team of Operational leaders in executing consistent results
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare or related field
  • 7 years of healthcare management experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
    • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Health Care Administration
    • Experience with medical acquisitions and divestitures
 
 
 
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
  • Certified by the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE)
