You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Administers Cancer Services departmental policies and procedures as directed in a consistent and timely manner. Accountable for the financial performance of the Infusion Centers.
  • Ensures cost-effective, high-quality health care services for patients. Maintains budget expectations and can account for variances to budget.
  • Coordinates/assists specific functions and activities of the Infusion Centers including information systems, accounting, human resources, payroll, materials management, engineering and other support services.
  • Develops and executes analytical and/or research activities to provide senior leadership with information and tools for Oncology service line strategic decision-making, utilization and costs, affordability opportunities, reimbursement projects, clinical outcomes and population health, provider referral patterns, trends and forecasting data, informatic needs and emerging technology.
  • Develops and prepares departmental scorecards and dashboards, showing high level results and trends. Scorecards will provide consistent set of clinical, operational and financial reports for leadership that reflect established service standards and metrics.
  • Hires, trains and develops team members. Recommends and implements appropriate training programs that will further enhance and hone technical competencies of staff.
  • Reviews and evaluates performance of the team on a regular and periodic basis and ensures the overall performance of the team is on track and well within the pre-established goals and objectives.
  • Handles complex patient complaints and issues by explaining hospital policies and guidelines as well as those involving compliance issues with state and federal regulations.
  • Oversees administrative processes including but not limited to registration, scheduling, charge entry, ADT interfaces, etc. of Cerner Oncology EMR. Coordinates implementation with AHS Cerner Oncology EMR and IT teams.
  • Evaluates and recommends facility utilization and improvement including construction and renovation.
  • Assists Coding Coordinator with periodic audits of medical records, ensuring quality of physician transcription, completeness of documentation, CPT and ICD9 coding, labeling and filing.
  • Educates physicians and staff on audit results, proper coding practices and revenue enhancement.
  • Reviews, authorizes, and submits payment authorization vouchers to accounts payable.
  • Rounds weekly in assigned offices. Meets monthly with office staff to inform them of needs, developments and receive information from them regarding the operation of their practice.
  • Meets as needed with Administrative Director, Cancer Services, and/or CNO to update and inform them of any developments and receive instruction regarding the operations of their practice responsibilities.
  • Meets monthly with physicians to discuss current issues, patient experience and financial performance of the practice. Documents physician meeting discussions.
  • Completes other duties that may be assigned.
    What You Will Need:
    • Bachelor’s Degree is required.
    • Five (5) years management experience in Oncology setting or large group practice environment required.
    • Master’s Degree in Health or Business Administration preferred
    • Courses in Analytics & Accounting preferred.
    • Experience developing and implementing new analytics program including integrating work with other teams to ensure analytics approach is aligned with hospital strategy and available data preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of managed care and value-added reporting and analysis such as HEDIS, MIPSS, quality of care studies, benchmarking, predictive care modeling and risk stratifications preferred.
    • Ability and willingness to take hands-on, executive role where required to support department needs and team development preferred.
    • Strong leadership, mentoring and problem-solving skills.
