You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Manage Quickbooks Accounting entries.
  • Maintain Foundation Accounts
  • Manage Community Garden project and others as needed.
  • Grant Management.
  • Manage and maintain donor database - Raiser's Edge.
  • Identify, cultivate and solicit gifts from individuals and corporations. Then recognize and continue stewardship with donors.
  • Identify and cultivate prospects with board members, physicians, nurses, caregivers, hospital staff, Administrators and community members.
  • Recruit Chairs/Committee / Board Members for philanthropy.
  • Manages Grateful Patient Program, including recognizing potential donors or friends of the foundation and either cultivating or referring them to a Development Officer for cultivation.
  • Manages Annual Giving Campaign for external and internal constituents. Includes meeting with new employees during orientation and overseeing mass mailings for different campaigns and donor recognition.
  • Provides leadership and direction to the foundation team in areas of prospect identification and research, data management, campaign coordination, stewardship, and donor recognition.
  • Brings new donors and prospects to the Foundation through the use of direct mail and direct marketing techniques. 
  • Executes an up-to-date donor recognition and gift acknowledgment program, ensuring proper treatment of donors/members according to their expectations. Places thank you calls and composes handwritten thank you notes to donors.
  • Manages the selection of candidates for recognition awards as needed.  Facilitates the presentation and design of those awards. Designs and creates certificates, plaques and other recognition items for Donor Recognition.
  • Provides accountability tracking through accurate reporting of foundation activity on a regular basis.
  • Maintains the Foundation fundraising calendar which tracks all hospital and foundation sponsored events and campaigns.

Qualifications
What You Will Need:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Must be adept in use of MS Office products, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, and ideally familiar with fundraising and donor prospect software, such as Raiser’s Edge
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of the Volusia/Flagler region, corporate and civic community, or a proven successful territory development in a different market.
  • Must be a self-starter with the initiative to manage up to 100 major gift prospects and donors, and coordinate with other Foundation staff to ensure total coverage of the donor/prospect base.
  • Must have experience in volunteer or professional fundraising and currently   have, or be willing to build an established network of community and business relationships.
  • Must understand the principles of donor marketing and fundraising cost-effectiveness, including donor targeting, donor giving opportunity development, organizational need and solutions based selling, and expense to profit ratio.
  • Must be self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality major gift solicitation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Three years of experience as a Development Officer in a regional or national organization with an active major gifts program that is part of an overall development effort, or four years of successful experience in sales/marketing with a proven track record.
  •  or Bachelor’s Degree (preferable in Business communications or social sciences)
 
Job Summary:

The Development Officer’s primary responsibility is to plan and carry out, identify, engage and cultivate activities, to maintain and develop the donation of funds and gifts for AdventHealth Foundation. The Development Officer will identify prospects from various sources including hospital visits. They will initiate telephone calls to secure appointments. Development Office must have the ability to interact with Presidents, CEOs and senior executives of partners, vendors, and donors to AdventHealth in a gracious and businesslike manner.  Must have the ability to research prospects, balance workload, make appropriate independent administrative decisions and develop alliances with others as valuable resources while respecting differences that bring versatility to the organization.  This position manages relationships with members of current and future giving societies, is responsible for the acquisition and retention of new members/donors and assists in other areas of the Foundation as directed by the Executive Director. This position requires a highly organized individual with a positive attitude who actively participates in providing outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
