CV Non-Invasive Nurse Lead – Cardiovascular Services – Orlando

Florida Hospital Orlando seeks to hire CV Non-Invasive Nurse Lead who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,107-bed Florida Hospital Orlando, serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America. Florida Hospital Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country. Department Profile:

A hallmark of this campus is the Florida Hospital Cardiovascular Institute, which has set the standard for the early detection and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and disorders since 1967. Our cardiology team treats more than 25,000 individuals for chest pain and performs more than 1,700 cardiac procedures each year. We are third in the country, and first in the state for the number of open-heart surgeries performed. The critical care team also handles other specialized procedures, such as valve repair/replacement, heart remodeling, ascending and descending aortic aneurysms, and arterial fibrillation ablations.

Job Summary:

The CV Non-Invasive Nurse Lead contributes to overall quality of diagnostic service, and documentation. They support quality standards and initiatives set by the department and hold team members accountable for providing quality care. They consistently and appropriately problem solve day to day issues and assist with smooth patient flow by assuring timely room turn over and prep. The Invasive Nurse Lead effectively communicates with staff, physicians and department management. They provide teaching and direct the work of other staff and students as required. Supports and assists with data collection for process improvement while understanding the department performance trends and established standards. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.



Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required:

  • Basic EKG knowledge
  • Ability to function independently with little or no supervision
  • Ability to read, write legibly and perform basic mathematics skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Proficient in all competency skills for the modality area assigned
  • Advanced levels of EKG training & arrhythmia interpretation (Preferred)
  • One year of nursing experience in the modality assigned to lead
  • Graduate of a school of Nursing or 2 years of nursing experience
  • One year of supervisory experience (Preferred)
  • A.S.N. or B.S.N. (Preferred)


Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:

  • Current valid State of Florida or multistate license as a Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification (Preferred)

  • Demonstrates proficiently and performs effectively as required for a Registered Nurse. The nurse practices autonomously in accordance with professional nursing standards. They perform all aspects of clinical patient care while working within Cardiac Rehabilitation, Cardiac Stress Lab and Invasive Procedural Support and Recovery areas.
  • Contributes to overall quality of diagnostic service, and documentation. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department and holds team members accountable for providing quality care.
  • Consistently and appropriately problem solves day to day issues.
  • Assists with smooth patient flow by assuring timely room turn over and prep. Effectively communicates with staff, physicians and department management.
  • Exhibits desire to learn and upgrade clinical and leadership skills. Seeks education opportunities, and coaches staff towards professional growth. Maintains familiarity with new procedures. Teaches and directs the work of other staff and students as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department or unit. Maintains and promotes a positive attitude; self-motivation; mutual respect toward patients, physicians, and fellow team members; leads as part of a team; possesses or obtains an advanced skill set while keeping current with emerging trends, educates, and shares knowledge with team members within the department to increase independence.
  • Supports and assists with data collection for process improvement while understanding the department performance trends and established standards. Contributes and encourages others to contribute toward process improvement by serving on PI teams as assigned. Participates in department employee and patient satisfaction initiatives.
  • Utilizes knowledge of the levels of growth, development and skills for all patients that enter department.
  • May perform waived and/or non-waived Point of Care Testing. If performing non-waived Point of Care Testing, as defined in AHCA rule 59A-7.034, must have approved competency and documented proof (copy of either diploma or transcript, at the highest level of academic achievement) at the time of Florida Hospital non-waived Point of Care training.
