You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Demonstrate, through behavior, Florida Hospital Zephyrhills’s core values of Christian Mission, Quality and Service Excellence, Compassion, Focus on Community Wellness, Cultural Diversity, and High Ethical Standards, as outlined in the organization’s System of Care program.
  • Performs all exams using FHZ CT protocols. Uses FHZ policy for proper identification of patient prior to performing exam. Educates patient concerning exam. Properly screens patients for any contrast allergies.
  •    Completes all exams in a timely manner, keeps work flow moving, and minimizes empty table time.  Follows through after completing exam with communication, transportation and discharge of OP’s.
  •    Performs all types of imaging procedures and operates all equipment safely and properly including scanners, injectors and monitors.  Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to perform scans on patients on all ages, adapting protocols as necessary.
  • Properly screens patients of childbearing age, and operates all imaging equipment in a safe manner minimizing radiation exposure to patients, families, and co-workers.  Practices infection control standards, and utilizes approved PPE and disinfectant agents.  Maintains properly stocked, organized and clean room.  Performs QA on CT scanners.  
Qualifications
What You Will Need:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of CT and MRI procedures
  • Knowledge of CT and MRI scanners/equipment
  • Ability to learn and grow with new technology
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • CT safety including radiation protection
  • MR safety knowledge/ screening
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Ability to learn and use Radiology software packages such as AGFA, PACS, CT/ MR scanners and workstations, EMR such as Cerner.
  • Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain all required registries and licenses to perform imaging procedures.
  • Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, shielding and distance to keep exposure levels as low as reasonably achievable for patients and staff.
  • Ability to complete exams in an acceptable time frame to meet TAT goals.
  • Ability to assess, start and confirm appropriate placement of IV’s for use in CT and MR studies.
  • The ability to assess, explain and perform CT and MR studies on patients of all ages.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • BS or AS Degree Radiologic Technology
  • Successful completion of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology with advanced certification in both CT and MR.
  • 1 year hospital experience

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  • Florida State License- General Radiographer
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT – R)
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT- MR)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
Job Summary:

Under general supervision, primary duties include imaging both neuro and body scans on patients from neonate to geriatric, following the age specific guidelines of FHZ parameters, transmitting images for diagnostic interpretation, and keeping the hospital computer system up to date with the progress of these exams. The CT/MRI technologist actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all, while implementing the principles of Florida Hospital Zephyrhills. Performs a variety of technical scanning procedures that require independent judgement and initiative as required in the application of ionizing radiation for CT and MR procedures. Be responsible for designated areas, policies, and equipment
